I was just passing through and only stopped for a short visit, but I really liked the little that I got to enjoy! The Sauna and temple pool are great! The only downside is the pool is a small hike away from the parking and they don't mention it on the the sight map. It is a nice hike so I didn't mind to much, but it took up a small part of my time that I wasn't expecting. I will definitely go back with my wife or friends and stay the night next!

We have been coming here with our children for over 15 years and have always felt welcomed and safe here with them. Everyone here, even those who opt out of clothing are all modest and mind their own business, contributing to a wholesome and meditative environment. Our children love the opportunity to soak and reflect peacefully in the natural setting, and we always go home relaxed and happy.

The baths are great but getting sun in the buff is wonderful. The location is ideal, peaceful, bucolic and the staff friendly. A no nonsense adventure.

Friendly staff, great facility, beautiful location. Hot tub, cccold plunge, warm pool and sauna. For day use, call in advance to ensure they can accommodate your party. We enjoyed a quiet late morning dip. Headed to Sierraville for lunch and returned after for a nice sauna.

Post Closure Update: The resort was closed up until May 21 of 2021, I'm not sure how long it was closed before then but I was here after the closure. The situation might change when you arrive but today Masks are required everywhere and every 2 hours or so the staff will come around to ask people to wear them throughout the day. Yes, even when in the water of an outdoor pool, even when people are 6 feet apart from each other. The dry Sauna is closed.
Previous reviews indicated that there was a party atmosphere, however, I didn't see any of that. People were generally quiet and not very talkative. I tried every pool from the big warm main pool, the hot pool under the dome right next to the main, the cold individual pools, the phoenix individual warm pools and the meditation pool all by itself. I honestly liked the Meditation pool the best, I was by myself for about 2-3 hours likely because this particular pool is not near the buildings.
Sierra Hot Springs does not claim to be a nudist resort, but I myself hate wearing clothes and I felt the need to wear them more than necessary because of very conflicting information. The website says clothing is required in view of the street, but the email they sent says clothing is required everywhere except the pool. Generally, I felt comfortable being naked around the pool, but elsewhere I wasn't getting that feeling. This is especially inconvenient at the Globe Motel where I stayed since during the night I would have to put my clothes on, go to the shared bathroom down the hall, and then take them back off at my room. I didn't see a single nude person outside of their RV, Room, or near the pool. I was disappointed to see some individuals wear clothing in the pool, but clothing is an option.
The path to the main pool is scarily dark after sunset, but I felt OK to walk to my car naked one time since nobody would see me. The main pool is the star of the bunch and the hot temple pool is relaxing. The main pool has a killer view and many people face the balcony when soaking here. Also, that side of the pool is away from the cover so you can see the stars at night. The individual Phoenix baths were, rustic, old call it what you will, don't expect 5 stars here. The mediation pool is the closest to the nature pool you'll find. It's only 3 feet deep, but I enjoyed the ability to sit and soak with trees and grass around me. I can confirm the "rotten egg" smell others have claimed. While my sense of smell is rather weak, others might find it repulsive, it smells almost like I could set the water on fire.
The town basically closes after 8pm so make sure you've packed enough water and snacks because otherwise, you're going to have to take an hour-long trip to get anything after hours.
Wifi at the Globe Hotel was an acceptable 30/20 and I had no issues streaming. There was however only 2 accessible electric outlets so I'm glad I didn't need much. The room has no desk, so if you're a remote worker I'd advise against using the room as an office.

Consists of One large warm pool, one domed hot pool with two small cold plunges, sauna - so, not many, not much variety. That was disappointing Beautiful location that is fairly accessible down a rather bumpy road. Walk up long icy drive from small parking area was dangerous. Small, crowded changing room for everyone. Only one bathroom working; two portajohns outside. Clothing optional but more than half those there were wearing bathing suits when i was there, Woman at front desk was unfriendly and unclear other than making it clear REPEATEDLY that there was nudity. Maybe she'd had too many run-ns that day with those who came and didn't realized that. A couple of young guys were drinking in pool and sauna. Compared to HarbinHots Springs it wasn't very nice.

Great Day rates as well as Membership rates. Bring your own towels, Locker room is unisex and the lockers are cubbyholes so don't take valuables there leave at home or if you have to in the car.

Not sure if I missed it on website, but it’s shared bathrooms. OK except in the morning when everyone’s using facilities at the same time. Also, not sure if I missed it but there’s a communal kitchen. Wish I had know that so I could bring food. Philosophy Cafe is right there but closed sometimes and never opens for breakfast. The hot springs are great, of course.
I’d go again, maybe camp next time.

This historic and funky Springs is very interesting but please, DO YOUR HOMEWORK before coming. And go to the website for more complete, up-to-date information.
Please note: NO DOGS ALLOWED....and they can't stay in your car.
And no drugs or alcohol either (including weed).
Tent/RV camping is in very primitive areas with ONLY porta-potties. Some sites are WALK IN ONLY so not good for large, heavy tents, bulky bags, etc.
No running water, pit toilets, or camp fires/open flame allowed. A good portion of the sites are in range of grazing cattle; who's 'lowing' you will hear all hours of the day and night. Ear plugs may be necessary if you sleep lightly. Positives: BEAUTIFUL stars, coyotes howling and a friendly orange 'house cat' that wanders through the camp sites.
At the pools, it can get VERY crowded on the weekends. The sun is brutal and intense due to being at 5,000 feet of elevation...so bring a BIG hat, sand chair umbrella (with chair clamp if you have one), and slather on sunscreen FREQUENTLY or find shade. And bring some type of shoe to the pools (don't leave them in the dressing area). The pavement and mats get EXTREMELY hot in the sun and were uncomfortable to walk on.
They have some pop-up shade tents, which were quickly taken in the morning.
A cooler full of iced drinks (no glass) and/or food is fine at the larger pool.

Went with two friends knowing it was a clothing optional experience. We decided to wear bathing suits and were the only adults wearing suits. Everyone was respectful, mature, and followed the guidelines. The pools were warmly heated and had great views of the mountains and trees nearby. My main criticism was the unisex bathrooms which were maintained but a little run down and the fact that the walk from the parking lot is a bit long if you have flip flops on. However, the prices were reasonable and it was definitely relaxing.

The bathroom downstairs in the globe has a hand held shower nozzle, either it does not work or its trick is not easily grasped. Otherwise the shower works well.

The bathroom was a shared but fully functional bathroom. It was interesting sharing one bathroom with the whole B&B 😊
