Wow this show was so entertaining despite it being only a 2 man show. They were not kidding about the blood either. The whole scene with all the blood was amazing; so visceral. The theatre consistently puts on high quality shows for a fraction of what you would pay in Denver.

BETC is such a gift to Boulder and beyond. The plays are always evocative, well-acted, and staged. I look forward to each production as a yearly subscriber and community member.

The show was surprisingly my and highly entertaining. Time just flew by because the haracters were magnetic. The woman who played Marie Antionette was my favorite. She did such a great job. Because of the weather and the Buffs game the theatre sent out an email the afternoon of the performance saying that we would get a free drink ticket if we picked our tickets up early to avoid the rush. We did. It was very nice of them. However the 1793 tastes like very watered down juice. So it wasn't even really worth the free ticket. I had to take off a star because of that and because there was a band performing in the next door theatre that shares a wall and we could hear the music through the wall. I will definitely be back to this theatre though. Their production quality is fantastic for the ticket price.

This play about the French Revolution. was expertly executed (pun intended) by 4 superb actresses who were talented, witty and entertaining. For such a droll subject, the script was packed with humor, puns and double entendres that kept the audience laughing. If you're not up on your history, arrive early and read the brochure.

Opening night of this brilliant, witty, thought-provoking play by Lauren Gunderson was another triumph for the Boulder Ensemble Theater. Wonderfully acted by four skilled and talented women, the pacing never lagged, the audience never wavered in their concentration on the story. We'll be seeing it at least once more. Opening night was sold out! Don't risk being shut out of this wonderful production. You're going to want to see more of BETC's work in the coming years. They just get better and better.

Been to this theatre a few times over the past few years. This company is growing with leaps and bounds. Get there before everyone else and you'll be able to brag that you were there before shows sold out every single time!
Similar in style to the Curious Theatre in Denver, this ensemble (called BETC, pronounced "Betsy") manages to pull off new shows that are well thought out, well-acted, and will make you think about life. Not just another Music Man musical! Whatever they have playing when you're in town, I encourage you to go. This ensemble has managed to enthrall me with every performance I've seen. They choose good plays and then produce them well.
This theatre even has an annual production of David Sedaris' Christmas book "SantaLand Diaries" and it's become so popular that it made it's way down to the Denver Performing Arts Complex (DCPA), the major theatre complex in Denver. That one is great, just not for blue-haired folks who might get squeamish about language. It's the new de rigeur Christmas show!

How wonderful it was that BETC decided to mount "Sounded" at the Avenue Theatre in Denver so Denver audience could see this extraordinary production. The dedication of Laura Norman and the direction of Josh Hartwell are marvelous. A must see and you don't even have to drive highway 36!!!
