There is a great dog park and a pavilion with picnic tables. Excellent views of the mountains. About a quarter mile from Main Street so not as crowded. Great place for lunch and relaxation.

Excellent choice to go with the family no matter the age! You could find free sleds at the entrance or the park. Pet friendly.

We found the park on TripAdvisor. An easy walk from Main Street and free sleds to use. My mom and I took three rides and it was perfect.

So, hey, I know it’s a ski destination, but the knees aren’t what they used to be! Who doesn’t love to sled! The walk there was cool, seeing the quaint homes as well as those not so quaint! Don’t set yourself up for disappointment, it’s a public park! No lifts, but little to no lines either, at least while we were there. Free sleds(plastic w some plastic discs as well) first come first serve, but nobody went without! Yes, I said FREE! Great for kids, certainly, but everyone in our group 20’s to knockin’ on the door 60, had a ball!

We had a great time sledding with our 4 and 5 year old. It was off season so not over run with people. Great low-key afternoon :)

The kids (and adults )had a blast sledding down the hill! We were so glad that we found this beautiful park. Spent two afternoons of fun and exercise! Also loved to see all the dogs enjoying playing at the dog park. A must day of fun, free of charge!

If you’re looking for a free place to go ice sledding while you’re staying in Breckinridge, Carter Park is where to go. We were told to purchase our own sleds, but when we got there, there were unclaimed sleds lying around and a little shed that had sleds in it for you to borrow then return. Save you some money, go check out the park first to see if there’s sleds, then go have all the fun you can on the snow!!!

Nice park and a great place to sled. We read the reviews so knew that we did not have to bring a sled as there was a place for people to leave sleds that they no longer needed so others can use them. It was snowing on the day we went and we had a lot of fun. It is also really easy to get to.

We did a weeklong ski trip with young kids and needed a day off of the slopes… Went to Carter Park late morning for some sledding and had such a blast! The kids had so much fun, and so did the parents! Great sledding hill… We had brought two sleds from home, but they had a whole area of sleds to borrow while you were there. Such a nice surprise! We sledded for almost 2 hours and had a blast… Great way to play outside if you need a break from skiing for the day.

This is a free park, dog park, playground, and hill for sledding (bring your own sled). No services are available and booking online is not necessary as it is open every day to the public.

Oh my gosh...the entire town of Breckenridge has hotels. The townnis so small that you can pretty much walk to everything, including the sledding hill. If not, there is always the FREE bus service that covers ALL of Breckenridge, and All of Summit County.... For FREE! Enjoy Breckenridge.
