We were in town and deided to go last minute. We had a party of 8. Bought tickets to Pretty Woman the day before our performance, so only seats left were the balcony. Would skip the balcony experience in the future as you really are far away from the stage. Parking was easy and theatre was nice. Definietly will go again, just not the balcony.

We saw Hamilton, which was amazing! We've seen many show here before and it is always a great experience. We did the pre-check for COVID, showing our vax cards and getting a hand stamp, then went to have dinner. We came back a half hour before show time and went through the pre-check door with no wait. Masks are still required as of March 2022. We were in row YY in the back, but because it was elevated, we had an unobstructed view.

modern opera house and art performance. other cities has old opera house, but in Denver it has modern art center. awesome architecture

At this moment I should be enjoying the second act of The Shining Opera, but I'm not. Instead, I am sitting here angry and disappointed, because I missed the show due to DCPA's lack of organization and parking. I live in Lakewood, and I left my home a little bit after 6:00 p.m. for a 7:30 showtime. I gave myself ample time to get to the DCPA; however, I still missed the show because the DCPA garage and the Convention Center garage were both full. From the time I arrived to the intersection of 14th and Lawrence to the time I realized I would have to miss the show, I sat in my vehicle for over 45 minutes, while other frustrated guests tried to park in garages that were already full. Once I arrived to the Convention Center garage for the overflow parking, I was told to immediately turn around by an apparent staff member who, instead of attempting to help the guests, simply waved his arms at people and yelled, "We're closed! We're closed!" At that point, it was already after 7:30 and I knew by the time I found a spot to park, got to the Opera house, showed my vaccination card, and made my way to my seat, I would have been extremely late, and probably would have been given a hard time by the usher. I was very much looking forward to this event and am incredibly disappointed that the DCPA does not do a better job of ensuring parking for it's guests who paid for overpriced tickets. I would like to think that DCPA would try to alleviate this unfortunate matter, though I find it unlikely. That assumption is based on the fact that DCPA clearly does not care to accommodate its guests by providing sufficient parking, and it does not bother with providing customer service by placing staff members in parking garages who can actually help guests find a place to park. DCPA should be ashamed of itself. I very much enjoy going to the theater, but I will not be attending any of its shows in the future because I will not be giving it my business, nor will I be dealing with the frustration and headache of the impossible challenge of simply finding a place to park. The way DCPA treat its guests is disgraceful and ridiculous.

The Denver Center is an impressive collection of theaters used for diverse performances- from Broadway musicals and full orchestral music to new and cutting-edge new plays and performance art. After being shuttered for 18 months due to COVID, their redesigned box office and lobbies are open for live performances as of November 2021- strict health safety are in place- required vaccinations, plus face masks and some social distancing protect the audience performers and employees. Thrilling shows on the stage schedule include Moulin Rouge, Pretty Woman, Hadestown and (probably) Hamilton.

Nice to walk and admired the sculpture outside of the building. It’s Sunday and pandemic the place was closed. It was nice to take pictures. Surprisingly it’s windy and cold.

Located in downtown Denver, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts is a complex of artistic venues. Within the complex is the Buell Theater which features high profile traveling Broadway shows, comedy acts, dramatic plays. as well as, musicals.
The Garner Galleria Theater is more of a cabaret style venue. It is more intimate with table service. Drinks are reasonable, as are ticket prices. The theater seats about 200 and features musicals and comedy acts.
Other venues in this complex of the arts include the Boettcher Concert Hall, Helen Bonfila Theater and the Ellie Caulkin's Opera house. There is a sculpture grounds at the rear of the complex.
A unique feature of the Performing Arts Complex are the acting instructions available and backstage tours. Their education department develops the talents of aspiring actors in well instructed classes.. The Theater Company is a Tony Award winning troupe.
The Seawell Grand Ballroom hosts meetings, receptions and galas while the Off-Center offers experiential performances. Having all these artistic venues in one place has many upsides but parking is not one of them. Simultaneous popular events can create a real parking headache.

Always a great place to go, I never don't have a great time going to DCPA. The Colorado Ballet, plays, musicals; they're all wonderful. The people who work in the theaters are usually great. Pro tip: if you want a drink at intermission, you can buy it ahead of time and have it waiting for you with your name. There are lots of places to each around and some places you can eat and valet your car if you don't want to use the DCPA garage or Uber.

Most recently we saw Rent, a high energy musical we both enjoyed. In early we saw the Donna Summer musical, also high energy with incredible voices.

Excellent venue (wonderful acoustics) but parking can be tough and traffic around that area can be tricky. So be sure to leave enough time to get to the venue, find parking, and then get to where you need to be in enough time that you aren't stressing before the performance.

Hello, I would like to purchase Nutcracker tickets for my 4.5 year old and my 67 year old mother, a cherished tradition. I am looking at Box 106 or 107, above the Parterre but before Mezzanine. Are these good seats for a 4 year old? Will it be like vertigo? And/or too private? She likes to hum along sometimes. Please advise. Thanks!

All seats have backs, and a place to set a drink. Some around tables, some nearer a counter type space.

I'm looking at the seating chart for The Ellie but I do not understand how the balconies, mezzanine, parterre and orchestra "stack". Does the Mezz hang over the Parterre? Any suggestions for seating? I'm hoping to see Book of Mormon there in September.

We're delighted that you're interested in attending The Book of Mormon when you are visiting Denver. The levels do indeed "stack" with the balcony being the highest level; however, they are in a bit of a raked fashion so that you don't necessarily feel as though there is a ceiling above you. What rows are under the mezzanine at the Buell Theater? Are the mezzanine seats any good?
