We visited the ruins with the family. I recommend it 100%. It is a very nice place. Only two hours from Madrid. It is worth it.

Feli, Clunia's guide, showed us the site with absolute passion. Knowing the history of Clunia, it was great to be able to listen to and understand part of the enigma of the city. An essential visit.

Impressive Roman city. The large forum and theater. It is still little excavated but the guide Fernando explains it in great detail since he is a great expert on the period and the city. It is interesting to visit the Burgos museum later to see the pieces found in the city.

The views of the site are spectacular, so much history in the same place, it is worth knowing it, and seeing the greatness that originated there so many centuries ago.

A must stop if you like history and specifically this important Roman enclave. Adjusted Price. The worst is the attention of the staff. What if you take the vehicle and park it exactly there, then uphill. When purchasing the ticket I clearly asked if a guide or self-guide was available and they told me that there are information panels. At the top of the ruins a guide showed up by surprise, to whom I told the problem and he ignored me. Interesting ruins with a good explanation that was not the case. I understand that there is still a lack of tourism culture in these places.

hay que tener imaginación para creerte que hay algo, el teatro todo reconstruido con maderas y tres medias columnas en el escenario, un mosaico que no verás, podrían ponerle un cristal de protección y algo veríamos.
El suelo impracticable por el barro, los conductores de autobús estarán contentos después de barrer y fregar el bus.
Y cobran para ver un descampado.
Vayan a Sicilia y verán restos romanos de alto nivel.

Clunia was an important Roman settlement and is situated on a rocky plateau on the outskirts of the village of Peñalba de Castro, south of Burgos. There is an entrance kiosk where you can buy tickets and where you will be guided as to how you visit this site. Shortly after the entrance you will find a museum with exhibits from the site, a film and toilet facilities. You then get back in your car and drive to the main carpark where you will find the remains of houses (with some good mosaics), the forum and remains of a temple. On the other side of the car park are the remains of two bath houses and then it is back in the car to drive towards the exit stopping to visit the theatre on the way. A guide book is available at the entrance kiosk and as there is little on-site information, we thought this was a good buy. We spent a little over one hour at the site and enjoyed our visit.

sin visita guiada no merece la pena, tras la entrada te dirigen a un pequeño centro de interpretacion, donde el video introductorio te lo tienes que descargar y ver en tu movil...el yacimiento realmente solo es extension de hierba, hay varios mosaicos de los cuales solo uno es visible, el resto ocultados, aprendan al menos a ocultarlos como en la Villa romana de Els Munts, de los restos reconocibles solo las termas pero todos los carteles deteriorados ilegibles,la joya de la corona el teatro, lo mejor el lugar elegido por los romanos, restos escasos y reconocible por la reconstruccion con gradas con vigas, hay mejores repartidos por toda la peninsula. lo unico que sobra es aparcamiento.
