We had surfclasses from Boaty. He was a very chill guy and also very patient. He took his time to explain everything multiple times and had a good analysis of what we should improve.
We had such a good time that we kept on booking extra surfclasses with him!
Also the owner, Lesitha, is a very nice and kind person who helped us with multiple things like renting a scooter and took his time to explain all the places to explore around Arugam Bay! He is really great!

Best first surf lesson and great experience🤙🏄♀️ Lesithan is a really professional and friendly teacher. I learned a lot and felt really safe in the water. He gave us tips how to prepare and we went very early to the beach, also picked us up and brought us back after. Lots of fun, we will come back, thank you!

We visited Sri Lanka in Aug 18 and I contacted Dulip to give my kids (10,14,17) a surf lesson. They loved it so much they had a lesson every day of our four days in Arugam Bay. Dulip was kind, patient, fun and a great teacher. In fact the surfing was so great we returned to Sr Lanka in July 19 to surf again. Again we had Dulip teach the kids for 5 days and again they loved it. Dulip mainly took us to Elephants Rock and Panama beaches which were just lovely and not too busy so it was safe in the water. Dulip really is a lovely guy and a great surf instructor, very safety conscious and totally brilliant with the kids. Would highly recommend.

Dulip is an incredible surf instructor - he's clear, patient and really takes time to watch and help you improve not matter what your level. He brings you to a number of different spots to get the most of the waves and also explore the most beautiful countryside. He's really fun and showed me the most amazing wildlife as an added bonus!

My boyfriend and I went out with Lesitha one morning on our trip to Arugam Bay, and we left wishing we had one more day to do another lesson with him. I am a brand new beginner, and my boyfriend is more of a novice surfer. Lesitha did a good job of instructing us both even though we are on different levels. He was very patient and encouraging, and he just radiates positivity. It's definitely with booking a lesson with these guys if you are in town.

Onze 4 kinderen kregen 2 dagen les van Lesitha en “pops”. Het was super. Van absolute leken konden ze na 2 lessen al goed recht staan en op de golven meesurfen. Heel goede uitleg op het strand en dan het water in. Lesitha is nationaal kampioen board surfing dus weet echt wat hij doet.

I’ve had surf lessons from Lesitha , he is not only a national surf champion but also a great surf teacher as well. He is always passionate and professional about what he is doing, but still know how to have fun. He is one of the most decent and modest guy i’ve met. I also had great time with him at the jungle barbeque and whiskey point night hangouts. I highly recommend everyone to contact him when in arugambay and just depend on him for the rest. After a week later my wife also joined us and get a lesson from Dulip as well. I can say that both of them are incredibly helpfull and honest. I highly recommend them ;)

The Excellent Surf School is perfect! Highly recommend the lessons there! Very professional and well organized. We felt safe all the time in the water and had just a really good time !
Come earlier to the Surf School and make sure to visit the shop with all the beautiful clothes made by Lesithas and Dulips sister! Amazing Work!!!

How much are your surfing lessons for beginners for 2 people? How many hours is each lesson?

We paid 2500 rupees each lesson + the transport to different beaches by TukTuk. To Panama beach we paid 1500 rupees extra to peanut farm 1000 I think and elephant rock 500 maybe but I'm not completely sure. One lesson is around 1 h which is good. It's really exhausting to paddle all the time! I would recommend taking lessons early in the morning (6-9 am) or in the afternoon because the heat and the sun will dry you out and burn you very quickly.
