A must visit if you're in the area. We admired the falls at the viewpoint which was less than a minute walk from the carpark. You can also choose to use the stairs to go to the base of the waterfalls to swim. The waterfall is very beautiful, definitely worth visiting.

Nice view of the waterfall. There is a path for you to walk down to the base. They have built quite a few spots for photo shoots along the way down. The path to down can get slippery as you walk lower due to the water and mist from the forest.
make sure you wear a proper shoe or slipper with wet grip if you are planning walk down until the base of the fall.
A lot of shows at the top for you to do shopping for souvenirs and drinks. The wash room is available but it's not clean.

Sipiso Piso Waterfalls is an hours drive from Berastagi. The name translate to "like a knife". The falls has an impressive height of 120 meters. Either you can take pictures from the top or walk down to the falls to get the feel of the sheer force of the water.

I visited this waterfall in tongging. It was really amazing. We go down through the step. The waterfall really big around 120 meter
From sipispo piso waterfall can see part of lake toba
We did tour start from berastagi by private car around 1 hours with our driver very kind . I hope if you go to lake toba you can stop visit this waterfall.

We visited the Sipiso-Piso Waterfalls on the way to Berastagi. The weather wasn't ideal, as it was cloudy and drizzling a bit. Nonetheless, the landscape is beautiful. If you're lucky, you can see Lake Toba from the waterfalls.

Of course it’s beautiful and stunning but I don’t know if I’ll revisit it again.
We arrived here around 5pm. The walk down is all stairs. We walked until the waterfall and hiked back up before it gets dark.
Otherwise you can just walk for 10 mins and enjoy the view from the viewpoint :)
You’ll get wet so bring a raincoat/ jacket!

A beautiful natural wonder and visiting in the morning has the sun shining onto the waterfall and create splendid rainbow colours
Do note however that the path to the plunge pool is obstructed by fallen branches. You can get to mid way down at max.

Beautiful waterfall on the way to Lake Tabo. If you have time, stop for a moment. Don't forget to apply mosquito repellent because there are horseflies that bite viciously.

Walk down a few steps by the side of the parking space to enjoy the breeze and waterfall sound. Most visitors will just stay at the photospot.

Mampir ke sini saat menginap di Taman Simalem. Jarak tempuhnya hanya 30 menit dari Taman Simalem. karena saya datang pada hari Jumat, tempat ini lumayan sepi, jadi bisa puas untuk foto.foto. sayangnya karena waktu yang sempit, saya tidak sempat turun kebawah, cukup menikmati air terjun dari view diatas, dekat lokasi parkir. pemandangannya bagus dan indah, dari sisi kiri saya berdiri juga terlihat pemandangan danau toba.

I imagine that it's possible to join a 1-day tour. My husband and I went with a personal guide on our way to Lake Toba.

Better take private tour or private car, from Berastagi about 45 minutes. Before going to sipiso-piso stop at dokan village to see batak traditional houses.

Hi guys;
I am visiting Lake Toba soon; I was wondering which would be an easier way to visit Sipiso Piso Waterfall as I have heard the roads can be quite challenging.
Hence; would it be easier to see the waterfall along the way? or take a day trip there & return?
1) Medan > Sipiso Piso Waterfall (along the way) > Lake toba
2) Medan> Lake Toba > Sipiso Piso Waterfall (day trip) >Lake Toba

You'd better take the trip from Medan - Sipiso Piso Waterfall (day trip) - Lake Toba - Medan. You could spend the night around Lake Toba for 1 night, enjoying the cool weather there.
