This visual treat is off the beaten path but on a main road in West Granby Connecticut. We had anticipated a much longer hike, however just off the parking lot, the trail leads only a short distance to see the river and some of the smaller falls along the path. The length of the hike and back to the parking lot takes no time at all. If you choose to stay on the well-maintained path, and get some of the views from a slight distance, this is not a rigorous activity although walking shoes/sneakers are advised. If you opt to climb down the steep rocks at the most picturesque portion of the falls, to get that “money shot “, be prepared to do a little rock climbing, jumping, shimmying along narrow ledges, etc. Great activity for all ages, Definitely worth the trip up to Granby.

Enders is on RT 219. It is not on Hickory Hill Way! There is a sign at the beginning of Hickory Hill Way saying “Not an entry to Enders”. Drive North n Case Street to 219 and turn R and go about 1/2 mile and Enders is on the right. Enders is closed for repairs and history of air lifting people out from accidents, but people go there anyway...

Friday evening around 5 pm . Summer time beginning of August. We didn’t get to see the splendor of the falls due we were in the middle of a very hot season , falls were partly dry, nevertheless we got to enjoy the reflection of the light and some white tails, mostly we were amazed by the size of the boulders and their texture. Dry moss and lichen every where. I felt like an outlander, the zooming sound of the highway bring me some flashlights, I could had been tele-transported at anytime without knowing. Beautiful craft work that stoned stairway that descends down the falls, still needs some finishing touches but almost completed. Its a pity its more than a year and a half and they still working on that section of the park. I kept my steps on the the purple trail as our 7 year old daughter is very intrepid. In the beginning I was in fear of the riffs and the review of the slippery accident a teen ager had months ago, so we left the excitement and the X-treme to my well fitted SOS who was more curious and approached more to the edges . He was in his element and playground. Too many fallen trees in the main trail. Area needs some cleansing, at certain point we stopped to a particular trace and smell. Fact truth we sighted a big feral cat crossing the forest. We are not sure if it was a bobcat but we did noticed the furry beast was short tailed and moving in fast pace, luckily away from us. We decided to back our steps cautiously and alert. Check reality. Thus are hunters. Got back to main parking area where we decided to explore the brook. It was a pleasant walk as we zig zag and scrambled up stream , we stopped at the different water holes. None of them deep at all, not meant for swimming. No mosquitoes. Very few encounters with hikers as the main entrance parking has over a year closed. A gig enormous white quartz stone covered in moss was a delightful encounter. Amazing beautiful black river stones. Will definitely like to return. Is that kind of forest you can be mumbling the colors of the wind. Specially on fall.

I've been to this park a few times over the years, and although it's still temporarily closed (it's been closed for at least a year), I look forward to its reopening. It has a gorgeous waterfall, although it's a challenging hike to get to it. Overall, it's a serene park with trails of various difficulty levels. The trails are clearly marked, although you can also sit back and enjoy the beauty of the forests. This isn't a good park for swimming, though. I don't know what the delay is in reopening this park, given how long it's been closed.

I have been in communication with CT DEEP and keep getting the run around. So since I was leaving Campbell's Falls, I GPSed myself to Enders being 15 miles away. I found it fenched off but 10-15 cars parked outside the fench. There were no signs saying no trespassing. So off I went. The place is wonderful and for the life of me I cant explain why DEEP hasn't opened this place. Everything looks 1st class. On this trip I didn't make all the way down but on a subsequent trip I did. I had the place to myself and was wondering would my car still be where I parked it. Rumors about an accident and Lifestar who knows. DEEP just open and allow folks back in without having to look over our shoulders.

Well since I can't answers from CT DEEP and the web site still shows the area closed I drive out that way several weeks ago (very low water)found the fencing and area closed but there nearly 20 cars parked on the pull off/shoulder so I set the tripod up and went in. I made it down to the bottom of the main Falls and walked back up. Today I risked the one hour drive and found orange no trespassing signs (weren't there several weeks ago) but I chanced it and went on in. This time I ventured all the way down the new stairs to where the trail starts climbing up Hill. I'd say the water level was maybe a 5 out of 10. Very serene and peaceful.I chatted with 4 others who were entering as I was leaving and no one seems to know the real deal is. I'm not aware of injuries and Lifestar being called so who knows what the issues are keeping the area closed off. 11-6-19

We drove 1 hour from Danbury to visit the waterfalls - can't find the entry as long as we realized the entry is blocked with fences and no trespassing notes! We ask a local one for information and she told us that due to several accidents the park is closed...

We drove one hour from springfield,ma just to get there and its closed.its fenced off, keep out signs all over..we ran to another family that told us they closed ot due to a bad injury someone had, that a person had to get airlifted out..so do some reasearch before heading out, to see when and if they re-open.
