“Great place for a ride”

The West Cornwall Covered Bridge was one of the covered bridges we toured on our Connecticut foliage driving tour. It is an antique wooden covered bridge.

Quaint and enjoyable

Went for genealogy research, enjoyed the bridge instead. Cute town and bridge. It was rather quiet as we were there during the week and likely out of season. Perfect time to visit!

Pretty Covered Bridge

We stopped at the West Cornwall Covered Bridge while in the area. My wife had never been to New England and wanted to see a covered bridge. There is a small parking area on the east side of the bridge so you can pop out and take a picture or two. Vehicular traffic crosses the bridge so be careful while viewing. It's a very pretty, historical bridge and worth a stop if visiting the area.

Pretty bridge

This is a pretty bridge but it was heck getting to! The local roads were having problems and we had to go about 20 miles out of our way to get to it. Not much else was opened in this town so it was just park, get out, look and leave.

Great covered bridge

An excellent place to fulfil your 'Bridges of Madison County' dreams. This was well worth the detour on our journey between the Catskills and Springfield. Drop into the ebike rental if you have time for a coffee as they are very friendly.

Easy to access and nice to see

Stopped in here on a Saturday and had a nice picnic lunch on a bench along the river. It's a gorgeous setting, and the babbling water was lovely. There used to be a small eatery on the corner, but it's not there any more. The new business is a bike rental place that also provides coffee.

Great little spot!

I wanted to see this place while I was on vacation visiting my sister in CT. Neither one of us had been there before (even though she lives in CT). We packed a picnic lunch and sat on a blanket right by the river (there are a few benches also) and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of the bridge and the river. Nice spot for photo’s as well 😃

I think this is one of if not the best covered bridges in CT. I have seen quite a few of these and this one seems the longest covered bridge in CT. It can hold up to one car driving thru at a time. Goes over a shallow river.

Just what you’d hope for

Wonderful stop and worth the extra few miles north of Kent and Kent Falls State Park. Gorgeous - long - bridge make you feel all nostalgic. Place to park on east side, benches to sit, and access to walk down to river bed of want to. Great setting.

This covered bridge is a whopping 52m long. It is open to traffic and pedestrians, with some drivers being more aware of foot passengers than others and slowing down accordingly.
