Unless you really like the constant sound of the beep beep beep of multiple backing up heavy equipment vehicles and the extremely loud banging of the closing of hundreds dump truck tail gates (and believe me they are both really loud), all going on all day and starting as early as 6am in the morning. I would highly recommend staying on the south side of the campground if you do intend to stay at this campground. Believe me this was not a relaxing or pleasant camping experience. Also keep in mind that there is absolutely no beach access on the north side because of all of the ongoing construction to repair the beach and inlet. Just be aware of these conditions before you arrive, these are not minor inconveniences.

Gorgeous beaches with lifeguards, ample parking and facilities that include a snack bar, sit down restaurant, and restrooms with showers are all in one place.
Great for a day trip.

We camp at the north campground. Right now there is construction going on but I still would not stay anywhere else. Love the location. My husband goes fishing I ride my bicycle and go to the beach and walk my dog. Hope to continue camping here for years to come

Convenient campground on the Delaware shore. Easy to walk to the beach, which was incredibly crowded. Regulations were not enforced: while the regulations do not permit licensed motorized conveyances, plenty of children and adults were using unlicensed motorized bikes, scooters, mopeds, rarely using any helmets, and not traveling at safe speeds; the one-way arrows for traffic flow on the interior streets were not followed; overt smoking was observed by campers; the quiet time wasn't, and check-ins were allowed well before 1 pm, the stated time. The check-in booth was manned intermittently, so there was often no personnel for service or assistance. Many of the campers are regulars who use the park on an annual basis resulting in an attitude of entitlement and the resulting disregard of rules because "we're regulars." Loved the location but not wild about the atmosphere.

sites are way too close together. The bathhouse is sketchy, just seems quite rundown in comparison to how much money they are raking in. The construction site on north beach was extremely loud even where we were on the other side of the bay. There is one worthwhile amenity. The little strip of beach under the bridge. It’s definitely not peaceful with all the construction and bridge traffic. No trees or shade which is a shame. I understand why, you wouldn’t be able to cram as many of us in if there were trees.if we did it again we would leave every day and go up to Rehoboth Beach.

The drive on is a great way to spend the day on the beach. You need a 4 wheel drive and a surf pass plus some extra equipment, including a fishing pole. On weekends and holidays it’s a lot more crowded and you must have a reservation, which sometimes sell out in minutes.

Large park with camping, easy beach access, and fishing opportunities. Friendly, helpful staff. Camp sites are in close proximity with no cover. Sites are paved and level with water, electric, and sewer available. Bath and shower facilities are clean but inadequate for the number of campsites. Be prepared to wait. Parts of the campground flooded during our stay, leaving some sites under a foot or more of water. Try to avoid the sites near the river or marsh. There are two bars/restaurants within walking distance, depending on what campground you stay in. Many more restaurants are a short drive away. We would stay again when passing thru.

The Delaware Seashore State Park is a huge area of nearly 3000 acres along the coast and is just a short drive from where we were staying in Rehoboth and not far from Lewes. It is an impressive shoreline, worth a visit.

The campground is large with all types of camping. Carry in, carry out your garbage. Dumpsters are provided. The bathrooms are sandy (duh!) but mostly clean. The camp hosts were helpful and accessible. The wildlife is plentiful and the beach is less than a ten minute walk. The RV and camper sites are very (very!) close together but it was very quiet after hours. I enjoyed staying here..

I have Verizon and reception is low in the park, I have used my Hot Spot at my camper site which in on the west side of Coastal Hwy and that works fine...have never tried it in the park.

Of course you can and you can use the day pass for ANY shore point in Delaware on that day at no extra charge.

If you are in the resort towns, there is metered parking but the State Park has a payment stand at each entrance. You can buy an Annual Pass at most State of Delaware park entrances. I hope that helps.

I am interested in how the campground is? I saw your review about taking our pup to the beach and we also travel with our fur friend, and are looking for a beach campground that isn't a parking lot. Do you have any photos of the CG? I'm not worried about ammenities, after all that's what we have our rig for, but are there "seasonal" campers there? I hate pulling up to a cg to find it loaded with campers that look like they've been there since the 70's. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Don't go there. It is what you describe that you do not want. It is a big parking lot near a major and noisy bridge. Lots of traffic. The campers do look like they have been there for years. There are several campgrounds that are more pleasant further north on route 1. They are in quieter locations, in wooded areas. Beaches do get crowded and Saturday and Sunday traffic will be quite heavy in beach season.
