Spent two days on the beach after Labor Day. Beach was still very crowded and weather was extremely hot on Wednesday. Great beach for relaxing and reading.

Excellent acceuil: cookie smaison frais puis petit déjeuner le matin servi près de la piscine, très frais et tout maison: muffins, omelettes, gauffres à faire soi même, ...bref très bien
La chambre est propre et correcte(un peu vieillotte mais on se sent bien dans cet hôtel

FAR too busy, and there's about 20 parking spots. We drove 3.5 hours from Washington D.C., circled for around 1 hour searching for parking, and drove right back home. It was unbelievable. Each "parking lot" next to the beach has ~20 spots, and thousands of cars competing for them. The really annoying part is there seems to be one of these small parking lots for every 1.5 miles of beach. The rest of the parking is in the residential neighborhoods, and you just have to find a spot where there isn't a "permit only" sign.

PARKING SCAM ALERT!!!! The city should be ashamed of themselves. They have a sign in tiny letters that parking head in is enforced. If you back into a parking spot you will receive a $50 ticket. This makes zero sense. The side street I was on there was a delivery vehicle in the middle of the street and it was much easier for me to back in and of course easier to pull right out as I left. I’ve never in my life has to pull into a spot or I would receive a $50 fine. It is a way that the city can make more money. There were like 5-6 other cars with tickets on a little side street. Again, the city should be shamed scamming people !!! I hope I at least save somebody money be seeing this.

I grew up here. It’s turned into an overcrowded beach resort. Parking is a complete nightmare if you wish to go to the beach. Be there by 8-8:30 or you may not find a parking spot.Permit parking signs are situated 20 feet back from an intersection where you would be hard pressed to see them with traffic in all directions . Worst of all is there is only one for a three block stretch. Easy way for a ticket. Town money maker. Problem is they have space at the beach to add more parking for vacationers but they choose not to! Can’t accommodate the crowds anymore, Seems like good old greed has taken over!!!!!!

Nice beach and boardwalk. Great restaurants. Parking is a hassle and way overpriced. No free parking even further away from the beach. While I liked the beach and atmosphere, I prefer other locations (Ocean City, MD; or even Virginia Beach) for easier and more reasonably priced parking and access.

As a mom, I love that the beach and boardwalk are non-smoking. Everyone we met along the way was very nice and the beach is one of the cleanest I've ever seen!

Great beach area to visit, but I am a little biased as I actually moved here after visiting this beach town. It is amazing and the local people are wonderful and friendly.

DISABLED PEOPLE WATCH OUT - if you have a parking hang tag, don't cover it with a handicap parking hang tag. You will get a ticket, and if you appeal it, they will judge against you - and charge you the court cost. UNFAIR. I suggested that their city-issued hang tag include a warning for disabled tag holders. There's currently no warning. UNFAIR TO GIVE ME A TICKET WHEN MY HANGTAG WAS PRESENT AND VISIBLE.

We enjoyed our time at the beach. We took a nice walk and just enjoyed watching the ocean.
I am sure it’s a different vibe during peak summer season or during a special festival - but in a non busy time…

Is there a service that I can rent beach chairs and umbrellas for the week and have the set up on the beach daily? I know we can rent from some various vendors but o am looking to have the. Set up everyday (like they do in Myrtle Beach).

I didn't see any bonfires but then we were only up by the boardwalk area.

I agree that the waves can get pretty strong, but they should be fine if you stay in the area just beyond the gravel. There's also quite a few holes as you go in deeper, but you will see lots of kids with floating devices as well. Enjoy!

Technically no. There are public bathrooms but it is posted that you are not supposed to change in them. I think people often break the rules, though. There definitely aren't lockers. The State parks both at Cape Henlopen and down at Delaware Seashore State park do have changing and shower areas.

I have always felt safe in Rehoboth beach. There are lots of families with children of all ages who go to Rehoboth so your family is sure to fit in comfortably. Just remember to check hotel rates to get the Best Buy for your money. There are numerous options, from expensive to reasonable and everything in between. I hope you'll love the area as much as I do. I've been returning here since the 1980s.
