Rehoboth Beach Delaware is one of the most fascinating beaches and beach towns in the U.S. Having visited multiple times over the years, I am never disappointed. This is a place that creates lasting memories… a lifetime of memories. My Wife and I had our first visit together here for our honeymoon, and over the last quarter century have returned, and returned and returned! First off, Rehoboth offers a vast flat sandy beach that gives you anything from walking the beach, lounging under umbrellas, swimming, light surfing and boating – maybe some fishing thrown in. It has the best and longest of boardwalks south of Atlantic City presenting everyone with the expected junk and fun eats anywhere. Cotton candy, fish tacos, snow cones, popcorn and amusements. There are Italian restos galore, but you can’t go without getting seafood with the myriads of styles of crab, shrimp, fish and you name it. Whether you’re into Bob Evans, Friendly’s or Cracker Barrel, or more sophisticated and tasty bites at Victoria’s or down-to-earth at Rehoboth Diner the options and varieties are huge! This intimate village-like small-town has done an exceptional job of keeping modernity at bay in the sense of its unique style yet with up-to-date conveniences. With a population of barely 1200 residents, it still does not eschew its origins from when the town was founded in 1873 with its nostalgic homes, excellent water quality, village vibe all has contributed to 5-Star ratings. But the beach itself is the main draw for us. The Mid-Atlantic offers very little of homey beaches, old fashioned and traditional conveniences, creature comforts and elegance. Rehoboth Beach, to us, is in the Top Ten beach destinations in the country. Enjoy and relax should be this town’s motto!

Gross pit bulls are allowed on the boardwalk and the public beach. Watch out for dog poop on walkways meant for human beings to walk upon. We pay taxes but then have to beware of bad owners of mutant pit bulls in our public spaces. Get the gross dogs off our beaches and our boardwalk. People don't clean up after their pets or their mutants. It's a public safety issue. A mutant snapped and lunged at its owners leg right in front of us. Disgusting mutant with a bad owner, of course. Ban them.

While I like Rehoboth, I must say that their parking situation is the pits. The hotel I stayed at gave me a parking pass, which was great, but in the 5 minutes it took for me to return the pass after I had checked out, I was given a ticket. I called the town and told I could fight it but if I lost I would have to pay court costs, so I just paid the ticket. This does not make me want to visit the town again. I think it is ill-advised to make parking in the town so onerous. I understand they have to do something because some people wouldn't move their cars otherwise, but the fact that there are no extenuating circumstances for a ticket is unfortunate. I think towns are short-sighted in going for the quick cash. The hotel owner told me that visits have been down the past few years. Perhaps the parking situation is a contributor to this?

If you like crowds on weekends this is the beach for you. It’s has a wide beach area which is a plus, but a midweek visit is much more pleasant with fewer crowds.

It would be nice if Rehoboth Beach Delaware had a dinner cruise in one of their bays. It would be excellent for business. I wish the city of Rehoboth Beach would consider this idea

Had a great experience swimming in the ocean and laying around in the sand relaxing! The beach is clean and is a great place for family swimming and making memories! The beach is surrounded by quaint shops, restaurants, games, and desserts! All around, a great American vacation!

Very crowded beach, took one look at all the umbrellas and went back to the boardwalk to check a box. Had the fries which were very good. Walked the boardwalk, typical beach town. Tons of t'shirt places, candy, popcorn and food /restaurants. Getting there from 10-15 minutes out took over an hour the traffic is horrendous in the area and the parking as well. Be prepared you need to load a parking app everywhere. As someone said no cost to use beach but parking instead. We managed an hour there before we said," let's get out of this mess".

Delaware beaches have the most beautiful sand and Rehoboth does not disappoint. Unlike Jersey Beaches, there is no fee to use the public beaches, but it can crowded in a hurry, so if you want to be in the thick of things, be sure to arrive early or you will be parking quite a distance from the main town. There are plenty of other areas in town to access the Beach, so no worries if shopping and restaurants aren't your thing.

A large typical American beach with a dike. Not much special on the dike, typical amusement parks and ugly shops. If you are used to European beaches, you will be disappointed. This is okay for America.

Actually 80 degrees today (last day of October), beautiful day to walk on the beach, but typically Fall/Winter is so much nicer to explore vs summer & the rush of people (in my opinion).

Is there a service that I can rent beach chairs and umbrellas for the week and have the set up on the beach daily? I know we can rent from some various vendors but o am looking to have the. Set up everyday (like they do in Myrtle Beach).

I always stay at The Atlantic Sands and walk down! But I do see off street parking nearby, I believe metered Memorial Day through Labor Day

I agree that the waves can get pretty strong, but they should be fine if you stay in the area just beyond the gravel. There's also quite a few holes as you go in deeper, but you will see lots of kids with floating devices as well. Enjoy!

Technically no. There are public bathrooms but it is posted that you are not supposed to change in them. I think people often break the rules, though. There definitely aren't lockers. The State parks both at Cape Henlopen and down at Delaware Seashore State park do have changing and shower areas.

I have always felt safe in Rehoboth beach. There are lots of families with children of all ages who go to Rehoboth so your family is sure to fit in comfortably. Just remember to check hotel rates to get the Best Buy for your money. There are numerous options, from expensive to reasonable and everything in between. I hope you'll love the area as much as I do. I've been returning here since the 1980s.
