Pleasant country park with a good children's play area. We'll signposted country walkway around the park. There was a reasonable café by the playground, but no toilets. You had to walk a kilometre up the hill to the main house to find them. On the plus side the car park and the grounds were free.

We went as a group of 42 mainly retired people to visit Oakwell Hall. It was not a very warm day and so we could not really walk in the grounds. The house kept us intrigued for over an hour. It is very atmospheric. The 'guides' are very knowledgeable and interesting. They were kind to us when the cafe closed. There is a good shop.

Great for long walk. kid and dog friendly. Kids loved splashing in the stream and playing in the park

Unreal place and loads to do 😀 had the best time with the family going for the day and even better on a summers day , bring your own picnic and sit in the sun 🌞

Lovely area for exploring and walking.

We came here for a few hours in the sunshine. Parking was busy so it took us a bit of time to get a space. Little play area was nice and we walked up to the hall. Lady in the hall was lovely and we had a nice look round. We did the easter trail outside (purchased from the shop) but as there was no 'prize' we lost interest. Maybe a little chocolate egg would have been a good idea. Had ice creams from the cafe next to the play area, staff were lovely even though it was busy. We'll go back.

I would have liked to receive a smile when visiting the cafe to order food and drinks and a thank you would be good manners.
However, the lady who brought our food out to the garden did thank us!
Having said that, the Food was very nice, lovely fresh bread cakes and delicious choice of fillings. Nice venue so will return.

Visited today and we were taken aback by how unfriendly and rude the staff were (two young women). The bacon sandwich was nice but the cakes are too sweet.

Visited Oakwell today with our grandchildren aged 7 & 5 & had great fun following the Halloween Dance Trail using the Love Exploring app.
We had lunch at the Oaktree Cafe where the sandwiches, cakes & coffees were very good & the service was very friendly & efficient.

Are dogs allowed all year around? Is the nature trail walk open every sunday and allows dogs?
Hi.
Yes, the nature trail is open 24hrs a day. If you want to buy leaflets about the trail, these have to be purchase in the shop which from Monday 1st April, will be open 7days a week, 10am to 5pm. Dogs are welcome, though we ask they are kept under close control. Thanks

There’s walking access all the time with public footpaths / trails etc. Car park near Hall closes at different times of the year, other car park not restricted. Map boards show paths, lots more on website.

283 Bradford goes past it's not much further than gomersal park hotel on the left.
We are planning a picnic at Oakwell Hall Country Park over the weekend and are trying to find out if a portable barbeque is permitted? Can anyone help please? Thank you
Thank you everyone for taking the time to answer. I did try multiple times to contact Oakwell Hall Country Park to find out in advance, but was only able to get through to an answering machine... (with no reply to my q. yet). I also searched on the council site and website... No specific information :(
Having visited the park today, I can now inform that there is a sign requesting that bbq's not be used. That said, we had a lovely visit and it was very busy, clearly popular and there was a nice friendly atmosphere all round. Blue sky and sunshine :) Lovely venue!
