I am a seasoned traveler. I've been to many, many countries and many, many resorts. I can tell you that the physical plant at St James Bay is outstanding. The accommodations are very nice and clean. The grounds are well kept.
If you are traveling for beaches and salt water this is not the place for you. This is not a gulf-front resort. The resort has pools.
If you are a golfer then this resort has a beautiful course.
I have never left a bad review on any resort I've been to. I have always been very understanding as things happen and we usually just make the best of it.
The restaurant at the resort is sub-par. Long wait times and not enough staff. The food was mediocre at best for a coastal resort restaurant. Restaurant management rude and not helpful. The closest alternative is Subway in a gas station 7 miles away. If you are booking this resort, you need to bring your own food with you. I wish I had any idea about this before I arrived.
When I went there recently for a Pickleball clinic they were doing major construction right next to the courts which drowned out our instructors ALL DAY LONG - we were extremely frustrated by the noise and dust we had to breathe throughout the three night stay. The pool was also closed so we had to travel all the way around the expansive resort to the condos to use the small pool there. For the amount of money we paid for this clinic and what we endured while there I felt quite angry. There were no attempts to pacify the 22 students or the two professional instructors for all the inconveniences we were subjected to.
Be advised.

Can't believe the price to use the fitness center. New owners. We go there from NH. for 3 months, but must pay 450.00 for 4 months. Use to be 65.00 a month. And, you must sign up before Jan. 1. or also pay 2300.00. Just to use the gym? Wow.

The office staff person is a hostile and obnoxious person who will lie to your face if you have a problem to resolve. She habitually speaks over the customer when confronted with inconvenient facts and employs lies and accusation as a defense. She argues instead of listens, and nowhere are the words "I'm sorry for the inconvenience" within her vocabulary. I had a reservation that I needed to reschedule. A family member contracted the Corona virus. I emailed to the office person at St James Bay and explained the problem. She then offered me a different date for several months later which I gladly accepted and everything was fine. However, Hurricane Sally devastated my town of Pensacola on that very date of my second reservation. I emailed yet again the day before my reservation and explained that I had property damage from the storm and needed to reschedule. I telephoned the office at St James Bay repeatedly for a couple of days and was not able to reach their office by telephone. Apparently their phone line wasn't working. I thought that must be related to the reason that I received no answer to my email. Five days later, I was able to reach the office person at the "emergency number" who then objected to my calling her personal cellphone. I didn't ask for that number, it was written in her email to me. She then denied having received my written request to reschedule. She claimed to have called me on the date of the reservation, even though there is no voice mail or any record whatsoever of such a call on my phone. She lied about that and then refused to listen to my response, talking over me and escalating the situation until I was so frustrated that before I realized it I was yelling into the phone. This woman is absurd and infuriating and I will never deal with this company again. There was Corona virus, and then there was a hurricane. I did the best that I could to reach out to them - they didn't answer the phone, they didn't respond to email. Is that my fault? Would it have been so hard just to reschedule my stay, instead of turning it into a big conflict? This employee is unfit for her job. She does not know how to listen or empathize, and she lies. I want the public to know.

Course makes you use every club in your bag. Fairways and greens were in good shape. Greens rolled a little slow.
Only complaint is cashier in pro shop? We played on a Monday and I wore Adidas no collar golf shirt. No problem. Played on Wednesday and wore nice Nike no collar golf shirt. Cashier would not allow me to play without collared shirt? Had to purchase shirt to play? We drove 40 minutes to play so not about to turn around. Nice course but thought that was a bit of a stretch to not allow play when I was wearing Nike golf apparel and not just a random t-shirt?

Bella posizione, villetta ben accessoriata, tranquillità assoluta. E allora perché solo tre pallini. I motivi sono due: la trasandatezza della struttura che mostra i suoi anni e la mancanza di manutenzione e la mancanza della colazione che in un luogo così isolato è una grave lacuna. Buona soluzione e per dormire ma null'altro.

This is an excellent place to relax and play golf. Don't let them spoil you. The day we went, there was heavy rain. The staff bent over backwards, to help us out. Great people, great place. We will definitely go back. A day well spent, even in heavy rain.

Prima appartement, maar slecht onderhouden. Prachtige golfbaan er omheen, maar de plek is bijzonder. Gestart in 2006 en nog lang niet volgebouwd en wat er wel staat is nog niet verkocht. In de omgeving is niets te doen, dus dat verklaart veel. Voor een paar dagen rust was het prima. Het lijkt op 't eerste oog super de luxe, maar deuren sluiten niet, elektra is niet 100%, kranen zitten los, tuin is niet onderhouden... Gemiste kans van de eigenaren.

This is the closest restaurant to Alligator Point, where we were staying, so we checked out the brunch on our first day at the beach. Good Bloddy Marys to start at $6.50 ea--the brunch was $11 and worth it---good breakfast stuff and also chicken, fried shrimp and chocolate pie for dessert. Welcoming staff appreciated.

On a family get together in nearby St George Island two of us wanted to play golf and this was the closest course but still about 45 mins away. It was worth the trip in fact we played two days in a row. First day got an online special of $30 with an 1130 tee time.The next day a 730 time cost us $62. At any rate the course is in pretty good shape, some problem areas but that's acceptable just about anywhere. It was a very attractive course, my wife rode along the next day and took tons of pictures. I will caution that while the course is fairly open if you get in trouble you can't go hunt for a wayward ball so bring extras. Water on a number of holes and some marsh type areas in the middle of the fairways so be aware of distances, they do have GPS on the carts and that helps. The "Be aware of alligators" signs are intimidating and while we saw some wildlife, no gators.
The only downer came on the second day when the starter proved to be an old crumugen, we pulled into the mostly vacant parking lot at 725 and were just finishing loading up when he came over and told it was 730 and we were due on the tee. He said pick it up "we've got 'em stacked up like cordwood and you've got the first time". I mention it because we only saw one group behind us the whole day and they were 3 holes back. The parking lot was still mostly vacant when we finished. I guess he just got up on the wrong side of the bed that morning, everyone else was great, By the way, they make a great hot dog.

The restaurant has ok food. I thought the ribeye was great. The pool is small but nice. The villas are "worn" but ours had a full kitchen, two double beds, and bathroom. We saw some ants come in the villa but that happens right? The issue is that everything closes on Monday so make sure you have a stock of groceries. This place costs a little more than the others but there is a pool.
