Nice drills on a saturday morning...good and friendly bunch...interesting drills by instructor Laz. The group skill level ranged from USTA 3.0 to 4.0....One can go earlier and hit with other folks who are around

I so look forward to playing tennis at McMullen Tennis Center when I visit this part of Florida. Not only is it in a very nice setting (although a little difficult to find for the first time), the desk staff are very friendly even to out-of-towners. The courts, both Har-tru and hard courts are very well maintained. Remember to brush the Har-tru court once you are finished.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday there is drop-in tennis for women and men at a very reasonable cost of $5. The players are very welcoming. In fact, now there are so many people showing up that some are waiting for a turn. The good news is that additional courts are now being built. Hopefully this will relieve that problem.
The mens locker room needs sprucing up.

McMullen is definitely a great place to play tennis, never hard to find a game. Nice friendly staff, especially David. Eight clay courts, seven hard and also pickle ball. It’s also very reasonable, both for residents and visitors!

McMullen Tennis Complex could easily be the one reason for my wanting to move to Clearwater, Florida. This facility has fantastic hard and clay courts, showers, and water fountains on court (filtered water). And this complex is publicly funded by the city of Clearwater!
The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. This was our first visit to the McMullen Tennis Complex - we were in Clearwater on vacation. The court rental fees are incredibly reasonable. The residents of Clearwater have a wonderful gem in McMullen Tennis Complex.
There are tons of tennis programs for adults and junior players. The grounds are beautifully maintained. Residents of Clearwater are extremely fortunate to have the McMullen Tennis Complex.

This is an amazing tennis complex in a strange place. The neighborhood that borders the courts do not match the beauty and integrity of the sports arena. This is for the better players and those who want to become the best, THE BEST.

This is one of the nicest public tennis centers around with well maintained hard and clay courts. There are many players, even at the 4.5 level. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday one can drop in and join the 3.5 - 4.0 group or the 4.5 group. A negative is that it attracts so many players that 2 or more players are waiting for "server out" .
The staff is very welcoming.
There is plenty of parking.
Another negative is that the locker room (mens) has no lockers.
I like that they accept used ball for the animal shelter.

We heard a couple of weeks ago that McMullen Tennis was dedicating certain time slots / courts to Pickleball so we decided to drive up and give it a look.
MTC is a very, very nice facility; we thought it was strictly private based on appearance. Three tennis courts had been converted to six Pickleball courts. The Saturday we stopped in there were probably 40 Pickleball players at the height of the Pickleball activities. As I recall, in addition to Saturday morning, Wednesday evening is another slot allocated to Pickleball.
Tennis was occupying other courts near us. Although I didn't count the number of courts and players with tennis, in general it was easy to conclude that the facility is well utilized by the community.
Over the two hours we played we met many nice, considerate folks. Recognizing it was our first time in the group everyone was helpful with their comments and our questions.
We noticed that a tennis court and a number of volunteers (?) were dedicated to an outing for a Special Olympics event. This also relays a certain warm message regarding the folks who use this facility.
McMillen can be a bit difficult to find if it's your first visit. Plug the address into your GPS and pay attention. Water is available court-side.

McMullen is one of the state's top tennis complexes. It features clay and hard courts. Many senior teams have won state titles competing for the center. Youth and adult USTA tournaments are held at the center. It is also one of the only Pickleball facilities in the area. It has four lined courts and Wednesday night and Saturday morning are open play. This is a public facility so tennis or pickleball courts can be rented.

Played here for years and always felt like we in the county are blessed to have parks like McMullen Tennis Complex. It is extensive, has both clay and hard courts, is incredibly well maintained, and is unbelievably inexpensive. The staff is terrific and support the many teams that play out of this complex. Can't say enough positivthings about McMullen Tennis Complex!!!

Beautiful park like grounds with nice clay courts as well as hard courts. Lots of grass and trees and shade. Bring the family and your dog too!
