We rented kayaks and spent 3 hours exploring the area. Lots of wildlife and crystal clear water. No manatees at this time of year in the Springs. Get there early to miss the crowds.

Absolutely incredible….. this was truly amazing. This was the unexpected highlight of our trip. It is every bit as gorgeous and pristine as the photos. Definitely bring your mask and plan to swim.

Great hike on a kayak to natural spring waters in a beautiful setting. Really refreshing dip and super clean spring water with great visual clarity gets a little bit crowded, but it certainly was fun

Cost was over $80 for 7 of us.There was a short boardwalk around the springs with no access to the water so we could only watch people enjoying the springs that had entered by another route. Other trails were in the hot sun. The “Welcome Center” had nothing to offer. Basically threw away money. Better to rent kayaks and access the springs from Kings Bay.

We were disappointed in our visit on a hot, sunny afternoon when the springs were full of kayaks and paddleboards, not manatees. It's the wrong time of the year to see manatees here. Because parking is limited to those with disabled parking stickers, we took the shuttle from the office, where we were given a map, and the shuttle driver pointed out restrooms. Although trails are described on the map, there are no trailhead or directional signs on the grounds, so we were never sure if we were on an actual trail or just wandering. It was hot, and there wasn't much to see.

This is an awesome and peaceful place where color of water makes you smile!
We went there on Tuesday and there wasnt too much people.
There was only one manatee because it was too hot for them. Next time we should come here in February.

The three springs are beautiful to look at and you can walk around them on a wooden footbridge. Swimming from land is prohibited, however. If you want to swim, you should take the time to rent a canoe. Then you can go into the springs and swim in the water, which is a constant 22°C. In summer, however, it seems cold.

Three Sisters Springs totally blew me away! The water is so clear and cool, and the weather in early April was perfect. Even though we were there past manatee season, we were still able to see one hanging out in the springs.
I recommend renting a kayak at Crystal River Kayak Company and Dive Center and taking the 10 minute kayak trip from there to visit the springs. Since this was my first time kayaking, I was a little hesitant to skip the guided tour, but it was worth it! It was more relaxing being able to explore the area and swim in the springs at our own pace. Don't sleep on this place - definitely check it out!

A must see!! We kayaked to get here, tied our boats up and swam to and in the springs. It’s chilly but worth it. There were two manatees back there and it was amazing to see them just hanging out! Such a beautiful area, crystal clear water. My 7year old loved it, after April 1st you can kayak in the springs which I’ve done before but we had to swim this time and was a very cool experience!

Hello! My fiancé and I will be visiting the first week of March to kayak three sister springs. Are there any companies that provide solo clear bottomed kayak rentals (no tour/tour guide) ? The only clear kayak rentals I’ve been able to find are guided tours. We’d like to be able to explore on our own! Thanks I’m advance!

The springs was the highlight of our trip… the water is crystal clear. While your visiting the area I would try and squeeze it in even if you visit via boardwalk and don’t enter/swim in the springs.

I think there was an admission fee to access the boardwalk around the springs. The manatees are only in the springs when the gulf temperatures drop, so usually from November to March.

Is it easy to get back into an inflatable kayak if you go swimming in Three Sisters Springs? I'm worried since there is no land access it will be difficult to get back into an inflatable kayak once we kayak in.

There are rocks around the springs. I saw many kayakers when I went. Nobody seemed to have difficulty getting back in. 😀
