After not diving since the pandemic, my bestie and I got a chance to finally dive with Scuba Tech. This is our first time diving in Florida and we were pretty happy to dive with this shop. My bestie is an instructor and I’m advanced diver with 1000+ dives between the 2 of us, mostly like the tropical waters. I was personally surprised the level of service we got from Theo (our dive master) and Nancy (our captain). Typically we would have to take care of our own gears but Theo pretty much took care of everything for us. Made it much much easier esp with me getting sea sick pretty much throughout the boat rides. Theo always checked on us underwater making sure we were safe and sound. I asked our captain if we could dive a ship and she managed to take to the barge site. We saw giant grouper hiding, huge flounders, mantis, and huge groups of little fishes all around us. Thanks for the great service we had even with staffs at the dive shop. Hopefully we’ll get to see you all again in the future - Nan

I was a certified newbie when I came here. I did a dive on Saturday to get comfortable and went back today (Tuesday) with my 14 year old son to do another. The whole crew was absolutely the best who made us feel comfortable and at home. Very supportive group of divers and I will definitely be back!

The staff was very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable and our dive master pointed out critters for us. The crew was engaged with the customers on the ride out and back, and while diving. They are organized, safety oriented, and sociable! I am a new diver and they very very attentive. I had a minor issue with my BCD and the Captain immediately fixed it. I highly recommend Scuba Tech!

The staff was very knowledgeable and safety was always the key. Lori was our dive master and Nancy was our captain. We had a great trip even when the weather was not cooperating.

Had a great set of dives over last weekend here! First dives in a while (since Covid ruined travel), and they went as smoothly as if I'd never left the water!

Great dives! Used them twice and had the same divemaster, Theo. He was great and super friendly. Gave us some places to go after the dive and we saw sea turtles, dolphins and sharks. Definitely recommend.

It has been a bucket list item of mine for some time to learn to scuba dive. This year I decided to make it happen, I called a couple of weeks in advance of our vacation to Destin and talked to Marianne at Scuba Tech She was most helpful and friendly and managed to work around to get me into the last class of the season.
Then I met my instructor Iina. She has experience and dives around the globe literally hundreds of dives. This is the kind of person I want teaching me to dive.
Once we had completed enough of the class to take in our first to open water dives we headed to Dustin harbor and boarded the Mongoose. Where I met Captain and deckhand again great very nice people very knowledgeable and willing to teach.
I got my open water dive license. And now I can honestly say that the underwater,high-def pictures you see on your television aren't even close to the experience of being there.
If you want to learn to dive or improve your skills or even go out on a boat dive snorkel dive Scuba Tech of Northwest Florida is the only company you want to contact.

Every year we come down to Destin for vacation we use ScubaTech. I can’t say enough good things about them.
We always get the dive masters (this year Theo and Tom) to go with our group and they were worth it! Professional, focused on safety but know how to bring the fun out of a dive.
We had so much fun this year and Nancy the captain always picks out the best sites for that day.
I look forward to using ScubaTech next year!

My daughter and I went diving with the Scubatech team and it was a great experience. They were friendly and yet professional. Nancy, the boat Captain, is obviously well experienced and knowledgeable. Plus a kind soul and good person. Her staff (both shore and boat based) is also very kind and service orientated. I have to say, we received 5 star service (we never even had to change our own tanks between dives and the even helped us with our fins before jumping in) and our divemaster Laurie was great!!

Do you typically send down a divemaster in case of trouble? I only want to dive with a shop that I am comfortable with. My husband and I have dove around 10 locations and I have never been without a divemaster. In fact I never thought about asking this question because I have always had one. Some other dive shop in the area had a comment that a divemaster didn't go down with them and they were afraid of getting turned around.

Hello there and thanks for contacting us. Our dives are not automatically guided as we have a lot of locals and regulars that dive with us who may not feel the need to dive with a guide. That being the case if you want a divemaster to go with you we can definitely provide one. We recommend it if you have not been diving in the area as they can guide you safely to and from the dive and point out local marine life and things you might otherwise not notice. They can also help you get your gear set up and answer any questions you might have. Just be sure to ask for one when you call the shop to book a trip. Thank you!

Sorry for the delay in response. Yes we have all the prices on the website but if you have any additional questions feel free to give us a call. It's $25 for the divemaster and $90 for the trip (does not include gear rental).

HI there. To get actual open water certification the classroom stuff is now done online and that is $169 paid directly to PADI. Then our portion is $410, which is 4 days of training and includes 2 days in the pool, 2 days of the open water dives and your required elearning packet that has your dive table, dive log and student record folder in it. It also includes the rental gear and boat fees but you will have to provide your own mask, fins (boots), snorkel and a safety surface marker. Just give us a call if you have any additional questions. what is required to scuba in Destin, FL? I went many years ago and we just had to attend a class room for training and also on the beach before we went deep into the water. This was all done at the dive shop we used. I'm not certified so I want to know if I have to be?

Dean is correct, in order to go on our dive boat you would have to be certified. However we do also offer the Discover Scuba where you do the training and one dive with an instructor but that does not give you any kind of certification. Just for fun.
