My husband and I visited Destin, FL in October 2024. We have been going there for several years and routinely saw this seaplane in action and thought...someday. This trip was our "someday" and was our first opportunity to fly with this company. It definitely will not be our last! It was, to say the least, absolutely phenomenal!! We each took a ride with the owner, Ryan, at the controls and he did not disappoint! Ryan was a pleasure to deal with from beginning to end. What a great guy and pilot! The plane is a two-seater; just you and the pilot. It was more of an intimate setting than our other types of flights; one on one. Ryan took each of us on a different tour so we could compare our experiences afterwards. He was able to locate sharks, dolphins and even a devil ray. We have flown on commercial helicopters over the Grand Canyon and FL beaches as well as on an Army Huey helicopter. Numerous rides on various types of airplanes and even a hot air balloon ride in Colorado could not surpass our experience with Ryan and Fly The Beach. It is by far, our best and favorite experience!! I just can't say enough about how wonderful this was for us both!! It just "made" our vacation!! Thank you, Ryan and FlyTheBeach.com!!

Ryan is a great pilot! He is very knowledgeable about the area and makes you feel comfortable. The flight was smooth and the views were amazing! My husband flew one day and couldn’t stop talking about it, so I went a couple days later. What an experience!

Each year I spend a week at the condo in Destin. In many years, we've done it all. Paragliding, jet skis, pontoon boats, scuba, snorkeling, deep sea fishing, even helicopter rides, but nothing compares to the excitement, views, and fun of flying in a seaplane. It's an amazing experience like no other. We texted flythebeach.com, and Ryan said he would fly over to our condo and pick us up at the dock. He came flying by, landed and I climbed in, and we zipped off across the water. In seconds, we were airborne and off on our adventure. We saw dolphins, rays, sharks, reefs, shipwrecks, and incredible views of the coastline. I even got to fly the plane, and if you want...you can even pull some g's for more excitement. If you are in the area, and want something that will create a lifetime memory, book a flight. We will be flying with Ryan every year from now on. Best vacation activity ever. Thanks, B

I live in Atlanta and needed to do my BFR and wanted to do more training in the SeaRey. I have my seaplane rating and tailwheel endorsement and own a homebuilt experimental SeaRey which I keep in British Columbia, Canada. My objective was to find someone who could do my BFR and training on the SeaRey close to Atlantas. Fortunately, Fly The Beach came up on my internet search and was reasonably close to Atlanta. When I contacted Ryan and Rose they were accommodating in scheduling, even when I had to reschedule due to a family emergency. I flew 10 hours with Ryan over three days and I can’t say enough good things about him as a flight instructor and fun to fly with. Having over 1400 hours in aircraft heavier than the SeaRey but little tailwheel time I was particularly interested in working on my tailwheel hard and soft field landings. Ryan was excellent in demonstrating technic and patient with me as I practiced. Rose did my ground school and she was also excellent and helpful in refreshing me on the latest airspace and reg updates. All and all, I am extremely pleased with my experience and would highly recommend Ryan and Rose to anyone who wants to train with people who really understand the SeaRey. John W Baker

Such a great time! I did the 24 minute flight as a birthday gift from my wife. Ryan is a great pilot with a sense of humor. If I had the time and money I would do the intro with them. I have flown in a small aircraft but the seaplane was such great fun. If you love to fly don’t miss this experience.

I cannot say enough good things about flythebeach.com. Ryan and Rose are amazing pilots, and all around wonderful people. You will enjoy spending time with them as much as you do flying above the Emerald Coast. I am a business owner working toward my private pilot license and spent last week in Destin on family vacation. Ryan took my 10 year old son up for his discovery flight, and I was able to log an hour of seaplane time with him. Ryan and Rose know these planes thoroughly and operate in a way that is safe, fun, and educational. If you are looking to see Destin from the air, log seaplane time, gain rating, learn about these types or aircraft, or even buy a plane, this is the best place to start. It was the highlight of our trip.
