Went out with a four some of friends and we all agreed this was a very nice course. It was well groomed and nicely kept. It’s Very scenic with several lakes and sand traps to make it challenging. We played nine holes and enjoyed it. We will definitely play it again.

Stony Brook was a nice surprise after other Florida public courses. The course was well laid out and quite challenging. Lots of water! The staff was VERY friendly and helpful. The play was a bit slow but not frustrating. The rangers were around frequently. The GPS system was helpful and very accurate. Silly input but the super size hot dogs on the turn were excellent. Overall it was a fun day of golf despite the cool weather and wind. Good choice for a public course. Oh and the restaurant after was hopping.
Duffey's. They have 2 for one drinks every day. Great way to end a round.

As copied from CameronLovesgolf . com - This is our favorite course in SW Florida! First and most important, is the staff. Not only are they all friendly & well-trained, but they just love having kids of all ages come play the course. The course itself has up to 6 tee-boxes on every hole, including junior tees! (Although some Junior tees are better suited for teenagers vs younger kids, so we just tee our little guy up in the fairway of those holes).
Course condition – very well kept, especially in season. Over the summer, they had to aerate multiple times, but that is to ensure a very enjoyable experience when prices increase. All of the carts have GPS and will lock on you if you try to drive too close to the greens or the ‘no cart signs’.
Facilities – Large driving range ($8 per bag of balls), a putting green, and chipping green with bunkers for practice (no charge and plenty of range balls usually on the chipping green). The Pro-shop is fully stocked with rental clubs, gear, balls, etc. Attached to the pro-shop is a Duffy’s restaurant, which has great food & happy hours. (chain restaurant in Florida).
Playing the course – Not a frustrating course, but challenging enough for better golfers to still enjoy their round. The word is that Old Corkscrew is the hardest course in the area, but we don’t find that course THAT much harder than this one. A few of the par 3’s are relatively easy here and I would recommend moving back a tee to increase the challenge. The rate of play is average in season, a ranger does drive around checking on people and a beverage cart person does as well.

I’ve golfed Stoneybrook in successive Februaries. Each time the course was booked so tightly (7 minute spacings) that we not only teed off 10-15 late (due to back ups, even though groups are sent off both #1 & #10), but also faced very stressed starters.
SB is a beautiful course with 7 sets of tees. The carts has GPS — very helpful.
Last year I brought one foursome; this year, two groups. Took us 4:20 to play 18. SB could do better.

Had the pleasure of playing this course in October. The staff was initially cold to our reception as I'd booked the only available time that particular day and they weren't prepared to send us out in the morning. The had an event in the afternoon with a shotgun start. After we got going though, the course was great. Several sets of tees for golfers of all abilities.

The layout is above average, the conditions are good. Greens run very typical of this area-- not super fast but decent. I was in the area during December when the prices are a little more competitive. I'd probably not play golf if I had to pay the normal rack rate here. (That goes for all Naples/Ft. Myers area courses, however.) I'd pay up to $50 here and feel like it was value considering what the competition is. However, I found a deal on Tee Times that was cheaper than that and played there three times in two weeks. I heard they are stopping there affiliation with Tee Times on the first of the year. Too bad.

This course was beautiful, it was in fantastic shape. It was busy and i was imprssed how oeganiz d they were we started exactly At our tee times. They were very pleasant in the club house also and when we pulle up they were so helpful with the clubs.

We live nearby and always thought this was going to be a public type course. It’s well maintained, marked and somewhat challenging. Enjoyed it in a pinch. Duffy’s on site for beer and food

The course is in great shape with multiple tee choices for all levels of players. While there is plenty of water around the course the real challenge comes form the sand traps. My only complaint was the persistent warnings and announcements from the cart's GPS.

Desiree Headley reviewed Stoneybrook GC in much the same words as many others. Her experience was from early 2016. Has the staff been changed at Stoneybrook and have polite and professional starters and managers been hired? I'm considering a property in a golf community and from the descriptions I read about the attitude and etiquette of management, this place should be avoided. Hopefully the staff can offer some words of encouragement......like "yes, we fired those fools and hired some professionals".

The staff has changed over since 2016. They have a great staff, especially the pros that work with the kids programs. The head pro, Jeff, is also very friendly and welcoming to guests. During season, they run a tight ship since they do about 220+ rounds per day. Course is always in good condition and the carts have GPS. The community is separate from the course. The HOA works with the club but are 2 separate entities. The residents who play there are also very nice. Its a family friendly community and it has its own entrance to the elementary school off Corkscrew, a great plus for the parents! The club has an after school golf program where the pro picks up the kids in a golf cart from the school and brings them to the course for drills/practice and then over to Duffy's (not affiliated with the community) for dinner & homework. The course does NOT allow residents to use their own golf carts though.

That depends on where the pin is. Most courses use a red, white and blue identifier. Red is up front of green; white is middle; and, blue is back of green.

several days, best to get a local membership or book on Golfnow for Hot Rates when possible. Feb can be $150-$190 where as summer time can be $69 or less.
