Great relaxing afternoon. Enjoyed paddling in the Estero River for a few hours. A great get away from the hustle and bustle of SW Florida in the busy winter season. Relaxing and pretty.

What a hidden gem! I was referred to their shop by my father in law as a good place to rent a kayak and going kayaking. I am so glad I went there. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful. The prices were great and the kayaks were very nice. The Estero River was calm and relaxing for a nice solo float. So much wild life to see. Thank you for a nice afternoon.

3 of us ladies went kayaking on the Estero river. Being of a certain age, we are not as flexible as we once were. The staff, both inside and at the river were wonderful. They kept the kayaks steady for each of and helped us get in and out.
Using the light weight paddles and having sturdy seat were great upgrades. The river was like glass
It was a wonderful day, we’ll certainly return.

We decided to try Estero River Outfitters last week. AWESOME, customer service!
Besides guiding us in our decision on which Kayak to rent, they went above and beyond to help our handicapped companion. He walks with a crutch due to a childhood injury. Without the crutch, he is prone to falling. The staff here made things extremely easy. Two of them hooked his arms and guided him down the steps. Then, they took off his shoes and socks so he wouldn't get his feet wet before helping him get into the kayak. Once we returned from a beautiful paddle down the river, the sames guys helped him out of the kayak and put his shoes back on him. If anyone asks me, this will be the only place I recommend!

I wanted to try a sup...and with Hunters help I did!! Tried several boards and now I know what I need when I purchase. Hunter was great!
Then I kayaked Estero Bay for a few hours....serene, saw some different birds, some people and homes along the way.
Go here!

5 of us including a 10 year old in single kayaks for 2 hours of paddling. Some was difficult for the 10 year old paddling against the tide but having a dolphin swim up the river just past us, turn around and swim under the kayaks was a thrill! The staff were so very helpful and price very reasonable.

We arrived for a scheduled demo and Jeff met us promptly. He knew all of the details concerning the peddle kayak's we were interested in. When we narrowed the selection we did on water test drives.
We were never rushed. Jeff spent all the time we needed, which turned out to be most of the morning.
We are looking forward to the new adventures in the beautiful kayak's we selected.
While we did not rent canoes or kayaks, there were lots of familys and couples who were. They have a lot of rental units. And the river is lovely.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Yesterday morning called Estero River Outfitters to make sure that I could rent 3 kayaks at around 3:15-3:30(I had a friend driving 3 hours to meet us there). Jake assured us that that would be absolutely fine, and I didn't need to make a reservation because they had plenty of kayaks.
We get there at 3:15, and the two boys inside the rental building were adamant that NOPE, NO RENTALS AFTER 3PM! I explained that JAKE had assured me it was completely acceptable. One of the boys stepped into the back for a minute, presumably to talk to Jake. I'm not sure if he actually did. When he came back a minute later, he said no, absolutely not. No rentals after 3pm.
Horribly unprofessional behavior. The other boy working the front desk was cursing in front of my child. And my friend ended up driving a total of 6 hours for nothing after I had been adamantly assured that the timing would be absolutely fine by Jake.

Can you launch from the same place you rent the kayaks?

Hi Guys,
I look forward to kayaking when I visit Estero for the first time from Nov 6 - 16. I can deal with the Bears, moose and Mt Lions here in the Rockies but we don't have BUGS!! What can I expect the first couple of weeks in Nov in the way of creepy crawlers and flying critters? Also, is it crowded there in Nov?
Looking forward to a new adventure! Any other suggestions would be welcomed.

Hi, bugs should not be a problem, you may come across an alligator or manatee. The later is the gentle giant and won't hurt you. Keep your distance from the alligators, admire from afar.
Lots of beautiful birds there so keep an eye out!
November is a busy month for traffic with all the "Northern Snow Birds" coming in from all over, so it is a busy time of year. Not bad for kayaking. If you love nature, you should also check out the Happehatchee Center, it is located on Corkscrew Road, right around the corner from the Estero Outfitters. They staff at Estero Outfitters are awesome & they will be able to suggest outdoor activities for you too, just ask!
If you want to experience a beautiful beach that they DO NOT rake and leave nature to do it's own thing, go to Barefoot Beach located off of Bonita Beach Road, in Bonita Springs.
