What an amazing little boutique shop in an iconic part of New Zealand. Being from the North Island you get to hear about Cardrona and it's surrounding ski fields but do take the time to enjoy the collection of local wares from the surrounding areas. The shop assistant was more than happy to share with us her experience and knowledge on the items for sale and would definitely recommend stopping in after a meal next door.

Adjacent to one of NewZealands most photographed building, The Cardrona Hotel. A tiny shop but stuffed with an interesting and eclectic mix of things - many sourced locally. My friend bought some "bloke soap" made with mud and beer, and I bought a lovely print of the Cardrona Hotel.

Kultakuumeen aikaan näillekin seuduille asettui kullan etsijöitä perheineen. Koulukin tarvittiin. Nyt piskuinen koulu on matkamuistomyymälä. Ihan kiva.

This place had a very nice selection of Cardrona related products and Kiwiana. Nice and warm inside too.

My son and I had a wonderful breakfast at the Cardrona Hotel, thought we would pop into the Old School Gallery Gift Shop next door when we saw the large Open sign on the road. The shop assistant was the Rudest girl ever, she had yellow hair and a long red coat and made the whole experience Awful!! We left the several things we wanted to purchase and got out of there fast. Dreadfully rude!

The old school house is only small but it has been decorated well and mostly has products as souvenirs for the Cardrona Hotel like t shirts and tea towels and prints etc. A few other collections were nice but I would like to see more variety to be of more interest. The building is cute in its setting by the hotel. Please fix the door lock as visitors can't open the door and think it's closed!

As I biked through Cardrona I came across this super cute little hut and I simply had to walk in and I discovered a treasure of art and artifacts, things to buy or simply to browse. The lady in attendance was very kind and happy to show me around and tell many local stories of past and present.

This tiny shop next to the Cardrona Hotel contains a nice selection of goods from local artisans as well as bottles of spirits from the nearby distillery. If you want something unusual or locally made, this is the place to stop.

We visited the Old School Gallery to look for an engagement gift after lunch at the Cardrona Hotel. Such a lovely artist working there, and so many things I wanted to buy. I got a lovely painting, and will also check out the items online too, as my understanding they can post to Australia. Definitely check it out as a range of gift/art ideas at affordable prices.

Saw this gallery open while staying in the village so wandered in. So glad we did ! The artist is just the nicest person to talk to and her work so diverse.
So much to look at in such a small space and all so gorgeous from beautiful soaps to jewellery to prints & originals. Definite recommend a stop.
