We booked a tour with Captain Carol for our 30th anniversary for a sunset cruise to see the wild horses on Cumberland Island. It was Awesome!! Can't believe how close we got to the horses... lots of dolphin, a Loggerhead turtle, lots of birds and wildlife. Even a wild hog. Capt. Carol is a natural storyteller and full of knowledge of the wildlife and history of the area. Can't wait to get back on the water with Capt. Carol onThe Shady Lady.

Captain Carol was a great find on our vacation. We were fortunate enough to see lots of dolphins, wild horses, a submarine, sea birds and a working shrimp boat. Carol has been residing on the island for years and knows the rich history of Amelia and Cumberland Island. We loved listening to her wealth of knowledge. We also went way up the creek in Cumberland Island, something not possible with a less experienced guide or large boat. Highly recommend!

We spent a great morning with Captain Carol on her boat. She knows the water ways very well and knows where all the wildlife are typically at during various times of day. She grew up on the water and knows it well. We saw everything we wanted on our tour- dolphins, shrimping in action, alligators, and the wild horses. Our 2 hour tour lasted about 3 hours, which was great. Had such a good time and Carol has great stories and info on all the wildlife. TOTALLY recommend this tour over the big boat tour as it get much closer to wildlife and goes where you want as opposed to a set route.

The reviews are true. Captain Carol is amazing. Super knowledgeable. Knows the land and waters like the back of her hand. Knew all the spots to hit to see all we were hoping to see. Ended the tour with dozens of dolphins swimming all around the boat. The dolphins clearly knew carol. Glad we now do too. Don’t hesitate - book her.

We've lived here 15 years and hardly realized how beautiful the islands, rivers and bays between Amelia Island and the mainland are. If you've visited Cumberland Island already and want another view of our gorgeous landscape, Captain Carol and her comfy boat are perfect. Carol is very accommodating, knowledgeable, cordial and fun. Can't wait for another trip with her.

What a great boat ride. Carol was a fantastic guide and gave us so much information about the area. We saw dolphins, gators, birds, and horses. The history of Cumberland Island is amazing.

Captain Carol was the consummate professional. She knows the area inside and out and has an encyclopedic knowledge of local history & wildlife. Her boat was immaculate and she worked with me to create an amazing day. We visited Cumberland Island to see the wild horses 🐎 (descendants that were introduced by the Carnegie estate in the 1880’s)& estate ruins. Bird 🦅 watching , dolphin 🐬 spotting & a beach break on Tiger Island (Fl). Spain 🇪🇸 gave it that name due to a now extinct population of bobcats. She explained all of the above to us. Her tours are dog 🐕 friendly as long as your pet is well behaved. Her boat had a fully stocked cooler with bottles of water & soft drinks. Please look her up on Amelia Island!

We booked “On the Water Adventures” at the suggestion of our host at a local BandB. We opted for a 2-hour trip, which included a tour of the coast of Amelia Island as well as a tour of the coast of Cumberland Island, GA. Captain Carol was very knowledgeable of the history of the area. Her website mentions possibly seeing dolphins, manatee, and wild horses, and we were not disappointed. As soon as we left the dock we came upon several dolphins feeding, some were within a few feet of the boat. After this we stopped off the coast of Fort Clinch as Captain Carol shared the history of the fort over the last 200 plus years. From there we headed up along the shoreline of Cumberland Island. During this time we experienced manatee and my favorite, wild horses grazing in front of the Dungeness ruins. Once again Captain Carol’s knowledge made this a most enjoyable 2-hours. If you are ever in the area, do not pass up this opportunity to explore the island from the water. This is a 10 Star Tour, I highly recommend Captain Carol and On the Water Adventures.

This was my 2nd trip with Captain Carol. I met her a few years ago with my friend.
She was so patient, prompt and friendly with all my questions during the month long planning of this birthday surprise. She was amazing and so much fun on the big day!! We surprised my cousin with the 2 hour boat ride with Captain Carol for her milestone birthday. She even greeted us when we arrived and helped us with our stuff. She stopped the boat a few times to show us the dolphins and the manatees and gave us time to take pics and videos. She even put up with us dancing to all kinds of music. I hope to do this again with a different group of girls at the end of August. Thank you AGAIN CAPTAIN CAROL! You ROCK!!!
