We LOVED our experience kayaking yesterday at Lofton Creek!! We booked last minute (because my step daughter is here for a quick, one week visit), and the customer service was outstanding! Then, when we arrived, Pete was SO nice and made for a fun and very enjoyable kayaking experience! I was very impressed with his knowledge of the industry as well as the wildlife and water/natural surroundings on our tour. And knowing that their staff are all certified and insured in their industry, AND are first responders in their other lives, made for a fun, educational, and safe experience. I would recommend anyone book with them, hands down!

This trip was our first kayaking adventure! It was wonderful- Jen and Pete work hard to make the experience the best it can be! They are prepared for anything and make sure you are completely comfortable and the experience enjoyable

My daughter and her husband came up from St. Pete as a sort of last minute trip and we had all wanted to try kayaking so decided to give it a shot. They accommodated us at the last minute and then even adjusted our departure time to coordinate better with the weather. We did the Lofton Creek paddle. We met Pete at the launch, he gave us some pointers and we set off. It is a beautiful trip and Pete is very personable, easy going, and knowledgeable. He made it a very pleasant afternoon and the weather cooperated as well. All in all we had a great time, no one tipped over and we had a fantastic guide. We will be back! Thanks!

Each month, a club, of which I am a member, organizes a kayak trip on or around beautiful Amelia Island.
This month, Peter took myself and one other down the coast of Big Talbot Island. It was a perfect day for kayaking and, as on past trips, Peter is full of information and very engaged with his fellow paddlers.
I highly recommend Up The Creek if you are visiting Amelia Island!

Loved it! Easy relaxed two hour paddle with a couple of gator sightings. a plieated woodpecker and a water snake. Very enjoyable. Great guide!

First time with this company..very impressed..guide was knowledgeable, helpful, low key. Paddled in on high tide, out as tide started to go out..perfect weather..saw a bald eagle along with a variety of herons and egrets..great trip !

My group of three 60-something women went out with Pete. I had contacted them by email before and he always answered promptly. He was funny and laid back, yet professional in answering my questions. He was a great guide, kind and informative. It was an easy paddle, but with some trees in our way at times. Some guides are patronizing toward older women, but he was not at all, and gave some good kayaking tips. Appreciated the water and after paddle Oreos, too! Hope to use this company again.

Booked this tour a a few days in advance. They booked the time according to the weather and water conditions which made for a great trip.
We have little kayaking experience but Pete taught us how to use the touring kayak properly.
We travel down the river getting all the great views. Crossing the river against the wind was a small test in our paddling and steering skills. Once we made it across the wind was blocked and we got to relax down the river. We went through a tunnel that led into a canal for small break. We turned around and made our way down the river.
A quick trip back across the river took us to the ramp. This sounds like a quick trip but it took about 2 hours. We enjoyed every minute, Pete knows a lot about the area and provided answers to a lot of our questions. He was more than accommodating to us giving suggestions and telling us about the river.
This was the best kayak trip we have been on and I highly recommend it to anyone with a little bit of kayak experience.

We hit downtown St Marys earlier than planned but Pete and Jen were already at the dock waiting for us with all the gear laid out and ready. Even though they knew us and knew we had paddled, we got the same thorough safety briefing a beginner would receive. The paddle across the river to Cumberland Island was smooth and, with the wind behind us, not very taxing. We were all in tandem kayaks and Pete towed an extra kayak full of supplies. Less than an hours paddle and we were on the beach...a clean and empty beach that was as wild as the horses we had heard about. While they set up a lavish picnic lunch we explored the beach. It was beautiful. Then, while we were eating smoked salmon and crackers and a cheese and grapes platter, less than 200 yards away a little family of horses came into view. It was surreal. They were so strong and powerful and free. What an amazing sight!! We stood and watched and took pictures until they wandered off.
The paddle back was even easier than coming...we went with the tide and let nature do most of the work. That was a highlight for me. And then some rock shrimp at St Marys Seafood but thats a whole other review.
All in all a wonderful day.
