The Fort Lauderdale History Museum houses a beautiful story of the beginnings of the city. It should be a stop for everyone visiting Fort Lauderdale.

Small but very informative museum with an easy self guided tour. There is information on the Seminole tribes and the foundation of the city. Outside the grounds make for a very pleasant walk.

From the start we were greeted by Frank who was very friendly and took us to the dining room where he played a video introducing us to the history of Ft. Lauderdale. Then we went on a guided tour of three separate historic buildings. David our tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly and fun. I can’t recommend this tour enough, it’s like stepping back in time and learning about the past and how we can both learn and grow from it. A++++ all the way. Thank you Frank and David.

My wife and I arrived around 10:30am. This during our walking along the Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale. We were greeted right away by the lady working the front desk. She gave us some info about the museum and grounds. We took advantage of the senior discount to save a couple of dollars. She started us off with a short history film about the building, and the history of Fort Lauderdale. There was a lot of great information in that short film. We then toured the 2 story house. Not too much time is needed to go through the 2 floors, but we did find it very interesting. We then walked around the rest of the grounds. We were unable to sign up for a later guided tour of the grounds, but I think that would have been fun.. we had a wonderful visit.

Frank was excellent! Very nice and knowledgeable. Interesting history of Fort Lauderdale. Frank takes prideful ownership and enjoys sharing his knowledge in a fun, helpful manner.

The staff was incredibly kind and extremely knowledgeable. It was a fun tour that provides a great insight into the history of Fort Lauderdale and shouldn’t be missed!

Great tour. Lots of history and artifact, well presented and the length is perfect for an hour and half or so tour. The guide are very knowledgeable. Knowing the local history makes my visit to the city much more meaningful. Highly recommend!

Loved learning about history of the area. Steps from the new high rise buildings are the one and two story structures that started it all including the rails that brought down the first tourists. You could tell how much our guide loved history and the whys behind why the city grew in the way it did.

Hi, the parking right next to the museum/house. Lots of history, I think it was the original house in the area. Across from the house, is the intercoastal, you can go for a short walk-to the left is a neat looking rest. although I don't know how good the food is.
Drinks? At night at the rest. there is a ghost/ history tour, rum running and gangsters, fun, the guide is a bit..., but lots of history. Very enthusiatic, (sp?), There is another tour also. If you like history tours, check out Bonnet House and Gardens. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Have fun. Mary
