Kiteboarding is a dangerous sport. At Cloud Nine Kiteboarding we take training for worst case scanerios seriously. All students are trained on quick release techniques and Self Rescue well before entering the water. While the need to use these techniques is rare, it is the responability of the student to act in a self reliant manner. We do not hold students responsible for kites and gear lost at sea, the students safety is our first concern. Retrieval of lost gear is just another item on the long list of what it takes to be a kiteboarding instructor.
