It's a great PARK that needs some city dollars invested into it. It has a good boat ramp and excellent view of intracoastal. There rest of the PARK could be used for bicycling trails, running trails etc. Instead it's closed off. Hollywood should capitalize on making the property more usable without destroying the vegetation. Bike trails aren't expensive to put in. Its an IGUANA Sanctuary.
PARK gate gets locked at 7:30pm, so Hollywood Police will have to come let you out. Technically closes before sunset??? If you plan on staying ask PARK ranger.

Located at the end of a residential area, this gem of a park is located on the intracoastal in Hollywood. Just west of the main entrance this park was once the site of a Spanish Mediterranean style house built by Herb Tulk's aunt Julia Hitchcock in 1925. Herb inherited the house upon Julia's untimely death when she drowned in West Lake. This area north of Johnson and east of 13th Avenue was platted for development but it never took place. For decades the house stood alone in a natural wilderness filled with foxes, raccoons, and panthers. Herb Tulk was able to fish from his front yard. Herb and his wife Gerta were artists and supported the arts in Hollywood. Their home became a gathering place for artists in the community. In the late 1970's Hollywood decided to expand Holland Park and when the Tulk's would not sell the house and engaged in a lengthy court battle with the city, The city used eminent domain to take the house for $140,000 in 1977. People in the community were outraged that the city took the Tulk's home and they hoped the city would preserve the home and make it part of the park. Unfortunately soon after the city took possession the house it was vandalized and fell into disrepair. The city gave the house to the fire academy to practice on and they burned it. Once the house was destroyed the land it sat on was never even used for anything. If you want to see where the house stood make a left at the entrance and walk down the path halfway to the end and face north. There once stood the home of Hollywood pioneers and supporters of the arts Herb and Gert Tulk.
Most people don't know about the sad fate of the Tulk home and instead just go about enjoying the parks many amenities. It has three two lane boat ramps, two pavilions, a bicycle path, nature trails, restrooms and a waterfront observation tower. My favorite part was the waterfront boardwalk. On one side you had the beautiful water filled with boaters, kayakers, and paddle boarders and on the other side are the ecologically important mangroves covered in crabs. Although the panthers are long gone I saw a lot of birds, squirrels who clearly enjoy raiding the people who come to cook out, iguanas, and even a snake. Holland park is a beautiful natural space not known by many people outside the immediate area. Even less people know it's story.

This is a quite little park to bring your family for a secluded bbq. you may also launch your boat at the ramps provided. Beware of bums sleeping in travel vans.

This is in my neighborhood and I finally found it. It's a sweet little park with quite a lot going on.. there are kayaks, and lots of boat watching from the shore. There's fishing on the boardwalks which are lovely to wander through. I took my bike and it was a fun ride..

Holland Park was a little hard to find, but well worth it! We were staying at Richard's Pet Friendly Motel and asked Lisa, a desk clerk where a good place was to take our dog that would be fun for us as well and she suggested Holland Park. There are great trails, an observation deck, lots of area to roam and we had a wonderful time. A little out of the way, but the amazing views and relaxed atmosphere is well worth the effort.

First of all leashed dogs allowed. Walk to the shore of Intracoastal waterway. Climb the tower for a better view of Hollywood Beach. Lot's of trails to walk. Fishing allowed along Intracoastal. Watch raccoons gather food at water's edge. Plenty of squirrels. Picnic tables. NOT CROWDED! Lovely area plenty of space.

No you have to keep your dog on a leash in the park. On Friday and Saturdays you can bring them to north beach for a swim between 4-7 only cost $5 per dog. They are not allowed on the broad walk at all but there are some local dog parks...
