Great place to visit

Loved walking around the nature centre. Was amazed by the spiders, raccoons and birds. Loved speaking to the 2 ambassadors that look after the tortoises. Great knowledgable people.

Before going to Key West, visit Crane Point

We have been coming to the keys for 20 years and have driven right by crane point nature center on our way to Bahia Honda State Park. Before idalia headed our way, we decided to go on a beautiful day. What a gem! We took a nariated tour hosted by a knowledgeable volunteer and thoroughly enjoyed the natural beauty, vistas, and history of the area. Thank goodness for "the trust" that realized that natural places should be preserved for all of us to appreciate.

Support conservation of natural habitats. The bird sanctuary is run by a separate conservation organization. Very clean and amazing people like Kelly are extremely rare!!!
Support them please. The birds have clean water 👍😃😃😃. That’s all I needed to see.

Don't just drive by, stop and do the tour!

Jeanie (I think that was her name) at the registration/gift shop counter was very nice. Greeted us as soon as we walked in. Gave us great information about the tour.
We had driven by for several years not even knowing you could visit. Glad we decided to go this year. We know have more history about the keys.

The only disappointment was that when we went to sit at the fish pedicure pond, there was some type of summer camp going on and the kids were swimming so the fish didn't really come around. I sat there for almost 15-20 minutes and only got a few nibbles. I was really expecting my feet to come out a little smoother but they didn't.

A great place to wonder about, even on the hottest days.

A great place that feels a little like an oasis. The trails are mainly covered by trees that provide shade, so even at midday, you can stroll round this place without getting too warm. As many other will no doubt have mentioned, there are some huge spiders and the fish pedicure is fun. Worth bringing a mask for a bit of snorkeling off the point, the water is clear and because they have a fish feeder, there are hundreds of parrot fish that hang around this area.

Worth a stop

Worth a trip. A compact but well-designed museum on keys history with good chronological order, some artifacts. Museums leads out to extensive trails among native trees and plants that are well marked. Clean. Organized. Recommend bug spray.

Great Family Visit

Wonderful little ‘hidden’ gem in the middle of Marathon. Great outdoor experience that allows for history and nature. Kids loved the fish pedicures as well as the turtles. Beautiful trails and I door museum. Staff were very friendly too!

Humble Gem

Call ahead and sign up for the free tour. Added benefits if you do. We spent two and a half hours in the morning, including the tour, left for lunch and came back to walk and explore the 63 acres on our own. We would not have enjoyed it half as much if we didn't go on the tour first.

What an awesome hidden gem!

My teenage son and his friend were just walking around when they discovered this place. It was already closed. So the next day we went as a family. It was awesome! Lots of history and nature mixed in. The volunteers/ambassadors were friendly and knowledgeable. The cashier was also friendly, quick and helpful. We really enjoyed our visit.
