Absolutely perfect day. This was a personalized private tour at group rates. Our guide initially took us out in shallow water while we gained confidence. Once we were comfortable, we've ventured into open water. We made a stop at Calusa Island Preserve, where our history and educational eco tour continued. This was also a critical stop to drink more water and reply sunscreen. We continued our tour into the man groves, and our guide remained understanding at the speed we were going. We never felt rushed.
Would highly recommend this tour and next time, we will be trying the fishing kayaking tour with them.
Reminder have a hat waterproof sunscreen and water. Rest room was available to change afterwards.

My husband and I had only been kayaking once before and we are in our early 70's so we definitely wanted a guided tour. Check out carmenskayaks website to see all the options they have to offer...guided and just rentals. They are located on a lovely body of water with islands and inlets. Both Lisa and Joe (the owners) were very helpful answering questions before we arrived and were great making sure we were comfortable and prepared for our tour. On the water, Joe was patient, knowledgeable and fun. We had a great time!

I had family visiting from Chicago. Not the outdoor type to be honest but I knew from a previous experience with Carmen’s Kayaks that they would so enjoy the laid back, casual experience of a eco tour with Carmen. What makes Carmen’s Kayak tours so special is that they are private! Carmen quickly bonds with both parents and kids. Although the family had never been in a kayak before, Carmen had them comfortable and smiling within five minutes. Two hours later back at the launch site everyone was raving about the experience. Do yourself and your family a favor and treat them to a unique, fun and educational experience in the Matlacha waterway with Carmen’s Kayaks.

We paid $25 for each single kayak and had a really nice, relaxing morning on the water. The big business kayak place up the road was going to charge us $35. We texted him and he met us at the park in about 30 minutes. He mapped out for us a route of where to go that would be the most smooth and showed us 2 hidden inlets to mangrove ponds! It was really cool navigating through the mangroves and finding the hidden areas and spotting all the wildlife. We would recommend Carmen to anyone visiting Matlacha for the best value.

We took a relaxing kayak tour with Ellis on the water today. He asked what kind of tour we wanted and we said “low key”. He obliged! We paddled around - meandering at our own pace - enjoying the setting, tranquility and mangroves. We saw tons of birds but didn’t luck out and see and manatee or dolphins on our excursion. ABSOLUTELY perfect day on the water! Love this!

We went out a couple of days ago with Ellis and it was so lovely!! It was my boyfriend’s first time out. It was fantastic. We loved how Ellis gave us some information about the history of Matlacha and the Native American Indians who once lived here . Carmen and Ellis are very professional but super chill also . The trip out was therapeutic .
It’s nice to be with kind folk trying something new. It was serene relaxing and informative. I highly recommend .

Fantastic experience with Carmen's. Ellis, the person that assisted us with our kayak excursion, was outstanding while we were coordinating the day and time of our trip. Super friendly and helpful. We will only use Carmen's for our future kayak needs.

Decided to make a second trip to the area and chose Carmen's Kayaks again. Another fantastic experience with her and her team. They delivered the kayaks promptly and the equipment was in excellent condition. Highly recommended!

Highly recommend! This is our 2nd time to the area and renting from Carmen has made both trips! Trip #1 - we rented just for 2-hours and kayaked around Matlacha. This trip (so far), we rented for the week and have explored so many canals/areas! Today, she even hooked us up with delivery to Jug Creek for an amazing 5+ hour adventure. You can’t go wrong with her (or her team). She knows the area and is just a nice human 😊.
