Very nice beach with lovely promenade. Was clean and comfortable in the water and we had a very good time. I'd love to come back.

North Shore Open Space Park was originally established in the 1950s when the city purchased and demolished a series of dilapidated villas on the site. It is one of Miami's largest parks, and it runs from 78th Street to 87th Terrace. Over the years, the 28 acre site was left to nature.
In 2017 the city approved a 6 million dollar renovation of the park with Calvin, Giordarno & Associates as the project manager and West 8 heading the re-design. The renovation strived to preserve the parks plants, including large palm trees and sea grapes and the parks natural dune ecosystem which protects the park from rising sea levels. The goal was to improve the beauty and functionality of the park.
Today you can enjoy enjoy beach access with lifeguards on duty and plenty of room to spread out as you soak up the sun. North Shore Open Space Park also has a outdoor showers, restroom, dog park, picnic tables and grills, sand volley ball court, three pavilions for picnics with grills which can be rented, swings and a play area, and trails with an outdoor fitness challenge course with self-powered workout stations. Parking can be found in the municipal lot across the street on 83rd street and along Harding Ave. I really enjoyed walking the trails in the the park and it is a lot quieter than nearby South Beach which you can reach via an paved 8 mile bike trail.

North Shore Open Space Park is a serene oasis with beautiful ocean views. Perfect for relaxing walks, picnics, and enjoying the sea breeze. A must-visit for nature lovers in Miami Beach!

Parking across the street was only $1 per hour compared to other lots closer to more popular beaches. From the lot to a spot on the beach near the water took less than 15 minutes.
Soft white sand, warm calm waters and a clean beach plus a lot less people made this an enjoyable place to relax.
Lifeguard stations were manned. Closer to the street were the volleyball courts and public restrooms (not the best condition or smells inside).
If one wants a quieter beach experience then I suggest the North Miami Beaches over mid or south.

This particular Beach is about 6 mi North, of the world famous South Beach. Also, it feels like it's a world away from all the loud noise, overcrowding, raucous party nature that is now associated with South Beach. This particular Beach is located next to a city park, with parking spaces just west of that Park, with an average cost of about $3.50 for three hours. Which is significantly cheaper than what you'll pay down on South Beach. The most important think about this beach is that it is quiet, comfortable, with lots of space between you and the next guest on the beach. Unlike South Beach, you don't constantly have to look over your shoulder keeping an eye on your possessions, because it is so sparsely populated. It is easy to see when someone is coming in the direction of your personal belongings. There aren't any dogs roaming the beach, at least not that day. When I arrived there were literally only about eight people within my view, both left and right, on this beach.
Bottom line-if you want to see a lot of very attractive women in skimpy bikinis, then South Beach is your place. If you want a party atmosphere with bars nearby and lots of high-priced retail stuff, then South Beach is your place. But, if you want a quiet, serene, sparsely populated, clean, soft sand, great looking water, beach without the drama, then North shore open space Park, is where you should go!
Bottom line-if you want to see a lot of very attractive women in skimpy bikinis, then South Beach is your place. If you want a party atmosphere with bars nearby and lots of high-priced retail stuff, then South Beach is your place. This was a wonderful surprise. We were heading to crowded Miami Beach and came across this gem. You can rent umbrellas for $20 and chairs for $10. $3 parking that was east to get in and out of. Excellent location.

Tucked between the condo's of Surfside and Miami Beach, the long stretch of beach is mostly empty and a great place to visit.

Es un parque grande que atravesamos varias veces para ir hasta la playa. Está bien cuidado, con algunas mesas y amplios espacios con sombra. Mucha gente haciendo algún deporte. Solamente pasamos durante el día.

Yes, there are several coconut palms, but there are also royal palm trees and other varieties. It is a really beautiful place.

Hi! We´re planning a picnic at North Shore Space Park and i cannot find a park map in the web.
In Google Earth i cannot identify the picnic area and i´m afraid to parking too far.
Please: someone could help me? Thanks a lot!
PS: it will be on a friday, it used to be so crowded in this day?
