We stopped for a quick peak inside this gorgeous chapel. Such a nice location to worship our Creator. Make sure to also visit the cemetery next to the chapel.

One room school house turned church on original property. Clean and inviting. We sat inside to have a quiet moment on our trip.

Sitting outside under the coloured lights for the Christmas Eve Carols and Lessons is a lovely, unforgettable experience. But get there early and do take bug spray! But as the minister changes every 3 years, so does the tone and format, so we've enjoyed some years more than others.
(Ignore date attended, it wasn't this past year but a few times previously. No option for that.)

We heard great things about the chapel but it was just ok. It was locked but we peeked in the windows. Not a must see.

The cemetery dates to the 1800's and confederate army days; lots of history and interesting tombstones. not much of a beach view of view of the sea so disappointing otherwise

We arrived in Florida on Jan. 2 and visited this Chapel quite often during our 6 weeks on Captiva. When we first arrived it had the Christmas lights and so are walks at night were rather magical. A very comfortable place to see and walk around on our way to the beach!

If you’re in Captiva, just drop by this historic church. Doesn’t matter your religious beliefs. It is a beautiful and well kept monument. Enjoy the peacefulness of the venue, I don’t think you can go wrong.

You must visit Capel By the Sea. It is a beautiful little church and there is a small cemetery there that is listed in the historic cemetery book.

The Chapel speaks for itself and is absolutely spectacular! Reverend Marshall was a huge help and it was a beautiful setting for a wedding. Go to their website for more information.
