Temporarily closed? The building doesn’t exist anymore. Was a great show but now it’s an empty lot that’s soon to be a bland addition to the Polynesian DVC resorts.

The Spirit of Aloha Show in the Disney Polynesian Resort is expensive. In the past, we've been impressed, but this time both part of the show and dinner were disappointing.
When we arrived, there was a tray with a salad, noodles and fruit on the table. There were also small, stale rolls served without butter. The salad was a very small wedge of iceberg lettuce with a trace of ginger dressing and the noodles were bland and rubbery. We asked for extra dressing and it made the lettuce and noodles palatable. The best part of this portion of the meal was the fresh watermelon and pineapple.
The main dish of barbecue ribs and chicken as well as pulled pork served with rice and broccolini was really good. My only recommendation is that it would have been nice to have a little extra barbecue sauce.
Dessert was a slice of yellow cake with pineapple frosting and chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. There was nothing special about this dessert.
The first half of the show was chaotic with birthday and anniversary celebrants going on stage to perform as the mistress of ceremony was giving instructions. Additionally a performer was trying to sing at the same time. The second half of the show featured native dancers and a fire dancer. These performers were incredibly talented and entertaining. It would have been a better show if they had more time to perform.
All in all, it was an ok evening, but for the price, I expected much more. My suggestion is that if you want to see a dinner show at Disney World, go to the Hoop-Di-Doo Review. The food is much better and it has a great show.

Disney. You never disappoint, and this time was no exception.
Situated at the rear of the Polynesian resort, this dinner show was meant to be great. It was raining and I started to get concerned. Well, no worries! Disney had us covered! Literally. It’s an outdoor venue with a roof over your head! It was a chilly February evening. They had overhead space heaters going. The server was amazing. She kept the food coming. It is all you care to eat. So if you want more Chicken, they bring it. Ribs? Yes! Pulled pork? Absolutely! Jasmine rice. Brocollini. Great appetizers such as cold noodles and salad and THE best fresh pineapple! The dessert consisted of Guava cake or chocolate cake. Both equally good! I had Cat 2 seating and I was dead center but towards the back. I do not recommend Cat 3. Very far away from the action. A few pillars blocked the view- so I had to move my chair. Problem solved!
The show was entertaining. You could eat while it was going on. Broken up into 2 acts. Fire dancer at the end was great. Soft drinks-lemonade, soda, iced tea, beer, wine, sangria INCLUDED! Tip: Bathroom was located in the Cat 2 seating area. Seats/Tables are very close together. Hard to get up during the show.
My family of 4 loved it. Worth the money or dining credits!

This is a must do at Disney World! The food and the show are both outstanding! The cast is so good at performing this show and the fire show is out of this world! The service is outstanding and they make you feel extremely special! Reservations required!

I made reservations to see the Spirit of Aloha Show at the Polynesian as soon as I was able. It was one of the best shows and dinners at Disney. Our waiter was wonderful. The food was amazing and beer, wine and soft drinks were included. Our waiter always made sure we had drinks and food! The show was unbelievable. Excellent!! I would definitely recommend!!

My cousins and I attended the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show during our visit to Walt Disney World. This show is at the Polynesian Resort. There are three levels of prices depending on where you decide to sit. We were on the dining plan which costs two table-service credits and had the choice of level 2 or level 3 tickets. I chose level 2 and we were seated up front and to the right of the stage. There was no obstacles in our path.
The show started with a variety of dancers and music. Most of the first half of the show was geared more towards young children who were invited to come up and participate. While this was going on, we were eating fresh fruit, salad, rolls, and rice noodles. Our beverages were also included with the meal.
After taking a break the show got more interesting. We saw dances from various pacific islands. The highlight was the fire dancer. Our meal continued with pulled pork, ribs, chicken, broccoli, and rice. The pulled pork and rice were favorites for us. Dessert consisted of two kinds of cakes.
Our server was friendly and attentive. The show was cute but not great. The food was filling but nothing to rave about. If you've never seen a show like this, I would attend at least once.

The good, the fire juggling performers were great, and we enjoyed some of the hula dancing. The dessert cakes were good and the pineapples and watermelon were fresh. The server was nice and brought my son kid meals when he didn't like the adult servings. The bad, the first half of the show was boring and had 2-3 breaks that seemed unnecessary, instead of being a continuous show. It wasn't until we were already served dessert that our server mentioned "prepare for a 45 min show", and by then we were so bored and ready to leave, but wanted to see the fire juggler. The show was hard to see and hear. The sound was muffled and there were several columns blocking our view. To add to that, there was a Millennial that couldn't bother to take her Minnie ears off her head to allow those behind her a better view. I really wonder who was the genius that decided that a structure with so many columns would be good for a dining show. The food was okay for the most part, the pork was pretty bad, the rice portion was small and was served under all the meats, soaking all their sauce, the ribs and chicken were okay. After reading the Disney site and running the numbers we got the Disney dining plan in order to cover our meal at SOA, which we normally don't get. We chose category 2 instead of 1 because the dining plan did not cover category 1. Category 1 might have been the only decent enough way to enjoy this show, granted there are still some columns towards the front. The Disney site mentions that 2 meal credits for each person would be taken for this meal, but it did not mention they had to be table-service meal credits. I have screenshots that show this. Our plan included 1 quick service and 1 table service meal for each, which we thought would cover the 2 needed meals, but thanks to Disney inaccurate information we ended up paying an addition $74 for the second person since they would not take the quick meal as a credit even though it's their website error. We ended up losing money with the dining plan. We did use the quick service meals the next day, but that didn't come anywhere close to the additional $74 we paid. Lastly, Disney please have your cast members show respect for other cultures. There was one employee doing the floss and other Fortnite dances on stage. I understand he was trying to connect with the kids, but teaching them hula and keeping up with the theme would have been a much better choice.

Decided to give try for special family time. Food was good, not great, but figured main attraction was the show. First half of show very boring, was second guessing decision to come here, but once they did traditional dances and fire juggling it was entertaining. In all, an okay experience, but wasn’t blown away for the expense.

Having been to a real Hawaiian luau on our honeymoon, we were unsure of what to expect when heading to the luau at the Polynesian. Let me start off by saying, it exceeded our expectations. Both my husband and I agreed that it took us right back to our honeymoon and mirrored a real Hawaiian experience! The staff is friendly, accommodating and funny! The talent is phenomenal and the show kept our 6 & 4 year old entertained the entire time. It is long, we had been warned with little kids-but we did not have a problem with it- it seemed to go by fast for us! I would highly recommend this unique Disney experience!

Food is decent. Service is a decent. Show is decent. However, it’s missing the night out experience expected these days. Walk up, wait around to be seated in an area with benches. Then finally sit down and rush through an hour and half just feels fake (and rushed) these days (I assume to get 2 in shows). When paying what this show costs, there should be a pre-show area with drinks and light snacks, for and hour before. Add in some warm up interaction. Could be performers, could be Disney Characters-Disney is very capable of making this special. Then you start to make it an experience. Could be so much better...

Hi
When I try and book this show it’s asks for advance payment. So do you get refunded when you use 2 Disney dining credits? Thanks in advance

They take credits out after you receive your bill after the show. They asked us if we are on dining plan? We were but didn’t use credits for this experience. We also reserved with card. As my understanding they putting a hold on your card or just keeping it on file till your final bill, in case you order more drinks.
Do you have to stay at one of the Disney resorts to dine here?

明尼苏达Savage159 条分享
No you do not have to stay at any of their hotels. Reservations are needed and can be made over the phone by calling Disney. I am not sure how far ahead they can be made, but it might be 30days. I’d call earlier and have them tell you for sure how far ahead it can be. Or you make them on line by searching for Disney World dining reservations. Then search for Spirit of Aloha.
Is it handicapped assessable

You need to let them know, but they make special accommodations for the handicapped.

So this is definitely not on a sandy beach I’m assuming. Is it by the water? What makes it a luau?
Brumba
明尼苏达Savage159 条分享
The hotel is on the waters edge, but the luau show and dinner are in a covered building away from the hotel. The luau comes from the serving of the food (community style) and the dancing (multiple islands, male, female, fire dancing). Florida can’t be Polynesia, but to present the experience in Disney World adjustments have been made.

Is the 8:15 show over in enough time to catch the 10pm fireworks from the beach?

缅因州约克436 条分享
Hi Emily,
To answer your question no, the dinner show is not done in time to see the fireworks, reason being that the show does not actually start until 8:30pm, 8:15pm is the time they give you to ensure everyone is checked in and seated on time for the show to begin. Also, the show has an intermission period, so in reality the actual show is two hours, but prepare to be at the venue for a minimum of three to account for eating, the show itself, and the breaks in between. Hope this answers your question. If you are hoping to see the Fireworks, I would go with the earlier show.

We are torn about whether to go to Ohana or do the Spirit of Aloha dinner show. It’s just gonna be 2 adults as this will be during our honeymoon (we are both in our 40’s if that makes any difference) Both sound like good food so we aren’t sure which to choose. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Yes, I say it’s worth it.. The food is very good and the show is great. The end is amazing. We had Category 3 last because it was all that was left. You cannot see 100% of the acting but you can hear everything. The dancers come out and face each side. We probably had the worst angle of all and we had a fabulous time!
