This roller coaster is an absolute blast. Big drops and fast turns. The portion when the train drops down and starts racing backwards is outstanding. Wonderful theming as well. This is a mildly intense ride (a step up from Big Thunder and Space Mountain) but it is still a roller coaster that all family members young and old can enjoy which is what Disney is all about. I would make it your first ride of the day right at rope drop. Quickest route is through DinoLand. Grab a Genie + pass and try riding again later. You can also make use of the single rider line and get a third ride in if you are loving the ride as much as we do.

The line was too long to get in... didn't get to see it because the park was too crowded.. don't waste your money

The second best ride in this park (first is Pandora: Flight of Passage). They did excellent on this one. This is a very thrilling ride with the speeds, g forces and how it even goes in reverse! Only downfall (and it’s only a sorta a small downfall if you know of this) is that they don’t plan proper with the big giant Yeti animatronic being in that mountain. It was originally supposed to move and look like it’s grabbing you but because they later realized that it’s unsafe from that height in that huge mountain, it stays in what’s called B-Mode where the animatronic doesn’t move at all, but the strobe lights give it the impression that it’s moving….honestly, either way, this thing is absolutely terrifying!! So scary detailed and well done, it really startled my fiance! Kids will love this one too but just have them be aware that it can be more of a bigger coaster than other family coasters (it’s definitely way more intense than Slinky Dog Dash) and that there’s a scary Yeti waiting in the mountain! My Dad conquered his fear with this one, if my Dad can do it, your kid can do it lol! Overall, a must ride when visiting the park!

Our family of two adults, an 8 year old and a 6 year old visited Disney World for two weeks holiday in October.
We went on this ride twice and it's superb. Could be the best coaster if it were just a little bit longer. Great views at the top too.

It is such a good ride and great thing to do at Animal Kingdom. It is REALLY bumpy though and at parts it hurts your neck by jerking you around very quickly. It can Give you a headache really easily. I don't recommend if you have motion sickness. Also it is a pretty small coaster and good rollercoaster for your kids, but it can be a bit scary and intense at times. But overall, it's an amazing ride.

Stunning rollercoaster ride. One of the more mature rides at Disney.
Be prepared both for the yeti but then also going high speed backwards....

Expedition Everest is a must do in Animal Kingdom if you like roller coasters. It is fast and goes backwards. Lines can get long but we found that going early in the morning when everyone else is in line for Flight of Passage is when the wait is shortest. With early entry, we did FOP first, then safari and then Everest and the line was only about 10-15 mins long.

My kids were really scouting out the parks for a thrill ride and this one fit the bill! That feel of climbing higher and higher, into the heights of Mt. Everest! Coaster and story all in one! A lot of fun!

Great rollercoaster ride with stops and going backwards. Quite a wait for the ride though use single rider lane if possible.

This was a pretty fun and exciting coaster, especially for people just getting into them - it was my 11 year old's favorite ride of the trip. It has a pretty exciting backwards track part as well. Will you see the Yeti? Who knows! It's not quite 'Cedar Point' level, but still a pretty thrilling ride nonetheless.
The waiting area is also pretty nicely decorated and plays into the storyline.

Hola qué tal, actualmente me encuentro en Orlando y mañana iré a Animal Kingdom, si bien, soy una persona que sufre un poco de vértigo la adrenalina me gusta, hace tiempo no me subo a una montaña rusa y quisiera saber si esta es demasiado brusca o si tiene mucha altura, ya que lo más probable es que eso me cause malestar al principio. Ok ive a fear of sudden drops but my wife so wants to try everest but again i keep making excuses. I dont mind thunder mountain or seven drawfs but the everest looks intimidating and Ever since that universal drop in jussaric park ride i have a fear of drop in theme parks any suggestions on how the deop or in everest

There are no sudden drops. The only scary(ish) bit going backwards in the dark. After that it’s a breeze. YouTube the ride, some crazy nutters have filmed themselves on it.
