Worth a stop if going through Port St. Joe. Be sure and check opening dates and times before visiting. We were able to climb to the top of the lighthouse for $5 a person. The views were very good. There is a also a nice, small gift shop. You can also walk around the grounds for more nice views. If coming in from the west, please note that Port St. Joe is on Eastern Time. The time changes just outside the city.

Stopped by the lighthouse while traveling through Port St Joe. It was rainy and dreary but we stopped by the lighthouse visitor center. Chatted with the lady about the lighthouse and climbing it. Maybe another day but not in the rain.
The gift shop had souvenirs as well as some nice paintings by a local artist. Get your Passport book stamped here.

I love visiting lighthouses and came to Port St. Joe just for this lighthouse. I was so sad to see we couldn’t go up due to the renovation. I do love knowing they they are preserving it. The lady in the house was so helpful and knowledgeable. I hope to go back and give it 5 stars.

Loved the story of how the lighthouse and houses were moved and restored. Way to keep history alive. Love the pictures in the gift shop.

We came here on a day that the lighthouse was not open but we could walk around the house and grounds. Next to the lighthouse is a pretty gulf front park that was being upgraded. It looks as though it will be quite nice.

Didn’t get to tour this but was great photo op. Would like to go back when it’s open. Port st joe area is really neat place wish we’d had more time to visit

There's a $5 fee, which you can pay in the gift shop. There are plenty of stairs to climb, so be able to do that and wear comfortable shoes. I wore sneakers. Masks are not required, unfortunately, though I certainly wore one. Only one mixed group, of no more than 12 persons, is allowed up into the lighthouse at a time. Once everyone in that group returns from the lighthouse, the next mixed group of no more than 12, is allowed up into the lighthouse. And so on, one group at a time. So there won't ever be people going up into the lighthouse and people coming down from it at the same time. At the top of the lighthouse you can go outside and walk around. Great panoramic view.

This was a stop that we enjoyed. This is a unique Light house and the history is interesting. We love Lighthouses and this was a great stop!!

My teenage son and I decided to try the lighthouse on a beautiful afternoon. I'm not going to lie, I was a little nervous as we made our way up to the top. There are about 140-150 steps or so in a very tight spiral. Some of the steps had spaces with no hand railing. The last section of the steps were very steep. When you get to the top, you get a nice view of Port St. Joe and the Bay. The top of the lighthouse doesn't have a lot of room to maneuver around. It's not super high, but it's not for the faint of heart. It's something I can say I'm glad we did!

About the first 20% of the steps are outside while the rest are inside the lighthouse.

Is this lighthouse only open on certain days of the week? All I can find out is Fri., Sat., & Sun. that it is open to climb to the top. What is the admission cost? What is the physical address that I should put into my GPS so I can drive to visit it? Is this located at the George Core Park?

We were there last fall. The lighthouse has been moved to a park in town in Port St. Joe. It is close to the marina. I don't know the address, but you can see it from the highway, so you can find your way to drive to it easily. At that time, the admission was $5 to climb to the top. It was open Wednesday thru Sunday from 1 - 6 pm, except Saturday when it opened at 11 am. It is 131 steps to the top, view is well worth it. Be aware they do not allow you to climb up in flip flops.
