We were pulling into The Fisherman's Village and I saw the Arts Center. Really worth a visit for a couple of reasons. They have a gift shop with regional art. This is a rare find in the Fort Myers area. I bought the cutest coasters. I just love them. They also have art on display. No charge but donations are welcome. Visiting the center was such a refreshing change from the same old same old. Definitely worth stopping.

If you need some unique art or jewelry this is the place for you! Great choices of art, jewelry, etc for very reasonable prices. Wish I had found this place earlier.

Excellent place to check out the local art work plus shop in the gift shop. Perfect for an hour or two. If classes going on you can see what is being taught. Great place across from Fisherman's village

Friendly staff greeted us at the door. Very impressive artwork hanging on the walls. Will definitely be back.

My daughter earned a scholarship to the summer art camp which was presented to her the last week of school, the week of May 22nd. I called to enroll her in the summer art camp. Accepted her enrollment. Everything was fine. Received a call back a few minutes later telling me she could not come because all scholarships needed to be turned in by May 1st. I told the lady she didn't received it until 3 weeks later. The printed scholarship certificate was issued by the Visual Arts Center. She said "Sorry".
Looks to me as if they don't want to hold a spot for a child who earned (through hard work and talent) a free week when they could give it to someone who has to pay the $75.

I am biased as I take classes there and have for several years. But this is a haven of creativity in many forms of art. There is a nice little gift shop with reasonably priced items. People are friendly and welcoming. We enjoy having people come into class to see our work. There are galleries where you can view art of very high quality and often various art competition and shows. If you love art you will love the Center!

Took a chance on the visual arts center and really glad I branched out. I didn't have time to sign up for any classes, but the art work in impressive. I spent about an hour walking around and talked to the ladies in the little gift shop. They center is much larger than you'd think driving by. There is no cost to view the art and walk around, but there is a fee for any classes you want to take. I bought some nice cards in the gift shop and was pleased with the variety of items for sale. If I had more time in FL, I'd take a class or two...it's seems like a fun environment.

They have a gift shop and several galleries you can walk through, plus classes during the summer for all different types of arts and crafts

Went here to see a showing of national 2-D artists exhibiting in various media. The center has several gallery spaces including halls and rooms normally set up for demonstrations. Wonderful gift shop is here with local talent.

The VAC is a hidden gem in Punta Gorda. The have year round local and national art shows. There is a wonderful gift shop that features art from local artists. What a great way to bring back a unique souvenir from Florida. They also provide classes and workshops in all the arts, including pottery, painting, basket making, jewerly, and photography. Located across from Fishermans Village on Maud St. Open 9-4 weekdays. 9-2 on Saturday.
