I did my dive certification a few weekends ago. The crew of the Little Deeper Charters was awesome. Very helpful, knowledgeable & personable. As a first time diver, I felt very comfortable with the dive briefing, the crew, and overall safety. I've been on boats before but I did end up getting seasick. I wasn't the only one which helped my embarrassment but the crew was very caring and helpful to all the divers. There was water, soda, and snacks provided for the boat ride and in between dives. Since I don't have any other dive boats to compare it to, I would definitely recommend them for divers in the area. I'll definitely go back again now that I'm certified.
I saw lionfish, spiny lobster, jellyfish, trumpet fish, barracuda and a plethora of other marine life. Fellow divers also saw sharks, rays, eels and turtles. I feel confident had I not been working on dive skills, we would have seen more.

So I decided to take the plunge! I searched the internet and found Stuart Scuba and made a visit to the store. I met with Matt Siegel who was more then helpful and extremely knowledgeable. Matt talked me out of buying equipment until I had a chance to try different rental equipment. I signed up for a semi private open water certification class. Jason Ham was our instructor after classroom instruction was done we headed to the pool. Jason worked with us as we struggled to lean to breathe underwater, he was able to get us past our mental blocks. The next day we dove Blue Heron Bridge, what a amazing place. Our final day was open water on the Little Deeper boat. The crew on the boat were amazing, I felt like I was at a five star resort, oh and they all had a great sense of humor. Both our drop sites were amazing, two beautiful spots with amazing reefs and aquatic life. Next I decided to buy my own gear, yes I’m hooked. I was expecting to pay a little more and I was okay with that as I was given tremendous advice by all, Matt, Jason, Peter Friedman and Christy, I was shocked to find the prices were the same or lower then Amazon. So anyone looking to get certified, to all my friends and coworkers down south, do your self a favor and make the drive to Stuart Scuba and also check out Little Deeper. Looking forward to my next dive, more classes, progressing my education and many more scuba diving adventures. To Stuart Scuba and Little Deeper thank you for treating me like family!

The seas were choppy on the day we went diving. We were close to an hour late leaving for the afternoon dive. The crew told us that the morning group had gotten seasick and instead of offering some tips for avoiding sea sickness, told everyone to head to the side rail to throw up. We had a number of new divers on the boat and I felt like the crew could have been more understanding and tried to make the situation more comfortable. The boat exhaust blew back into the deck area and the exhaust fumes made my slight queasiness worse, I was fighting to avoid feeling sick and hoping the dive site wasn't a long trip. The dives in this area are often drift dives. The captain and dive master did a good job picking up the divers and giving clear instructions on how to safely make it back onto the boat. The dive master was helpful one on one and did a good job helping those who needed help getting ready and in the water. Afer the first dive a diver (friend of the crew?) dove during the surface interval which made us stay in the area of the first dive site for longer than needed for our surface interval- again, we were in a situation where a number of people were feeling sea sick and we stayed on choppy, rolling seas for almost an hour and a half before we moved on to the next site and were able to get back into the water. Overall, even though the dives were good, it was one of the most unpleasant days I have spent on a dive boat and I have logged over 200 dives.

Let's start the review with the number of days we had reserved with them: 5 people (one of which was a junior diver that just got certified and this will be important for later in the review) for 4 days with some nitrox dives, which should tell you how much we were spending with them....ALOT!
Day 1- The first day was flowtopia, which was apparently a West Palm spring break tradition which caused quite a havoc in the area. We arrived to find the boat was going to be delayed because a diver had to be administered O2. Both of these scenarios are something the dive shop could not control, so no harm there. The people in the shop seemed a bit out of sorts running around and had something to say about everyone and had opinions about everything...and was glad to voice those opinions. Once we got on the boat and away from the chaos, the crew was friendly and knowledgeable. Matt and Brad were our dive masters that took turns taking us out. Brad was funny, entertaining and great! He made all of us comfortable and at ease while diving. We saw sharks and sting rays on the first dive! Matt was another dive master on the boat that was good too.
Day 2 - Brad and Gary were the dive masters today. Again, Brad was great and Gary was a mess. Gary was a guide that came from a different area that seemed very lost underwater, grabbed coral to pull himself along the floor and even took time to capture a lobster bare handed and tried to shove it his suit (which is illegal to take lobsters without a license) and when that was unsuccessful, tried to hand off the lobster to another person in the party. The lobster got away. He held onto a sponge while trying to grab the lobster. Pretty sure he needs to take the Project AWARE course again.
Day 3 - this day turned out to be more entertaining the day 2 (in a bad way). Storm, Avi and some new dude were our dive masters. Storm was training the new dude as dive master in training so let's start there. Haha. The new dude acted like it was the first time ever being on a boat ad busted his butt when he slipped on the deck.
Dive #1 was diving the Anne Cecelia wreck with Avi and we wete dropped right on top of it, which was good and bad because the current was strong that day but Avi did a good job keeping us around it. The new dude threw the tow line to us and he threw it in the total opposite direction of the divers waiting in the water. He tried it again and was standing on the line so it went a total of 10 feet. We all started laughing. I thought I was going to choke on the salt water from laughing so hard.
Dive #2 is were the fun begins! Storm was "training" the new dude which lost his tank mid dive so we all had to hover around while watching a "dive master in training" put his tank back on his BCD. Again, a very strong current at the flower garden and Storm bragged about how he was able to leave us behind because of his strong legs! Again, this is where the part about having a junior diver in the party comes in because we all felt like we had just ran a marathon to keep up with Storm. Very bad quality of a dive master that is supposed to take the cumulative group skill level into consideration. The new dude was winding the buoy marker up and blew threw his safety stop!!! Storm had to go get him and bring him down for the group.
Dive #3 was a good dive below with Avi but the funny part was happening on the deck with Storm and the new dude. Two us us decided to skip the last dive so we started breaking down our equipment to get out of the way of the others that would come up later. The new dude started breaking down his too until Storm had to advise him that all dive masters need to wait until everyone is on the boat safe and secure because they may have to jump in to help someone at any time. Pretty sure that even I would have know better than to do this. There was one more person that was diving with our group that rented equipment from the shop and wasn't given a sausage knowing these were all going to be drift dives. She also skipped the last dive because she was freezing and was not offered a heat blanket or anything to comfort her.
Day 4 - Storm and another guy were the dive masters today. The other guy was good. The first was a good calm morning drift dive even though the visibility wasn't great...very relaxing and no fighting currents. Perfect morning dive. It may be because I told the captain and the dive master I didn't feel like running a marathon that morning and shouldn't have to work that hard while on vacaction. LOL. The second dive was suppose to be over the reef but everyone got to see about 5 minutes and then missed it so we did a re-drop and it was completely missed the second time. Complete sand!
Overall, the shop has some good people and some bad ones. They are under new management so maybe that has something to do with it. If you want nitrox, make sure to tell them because you won't be asked "air or nitrox" and if you order nitrox, make sure you confirm you have the correct number on board. And for Pete's sake.... don't take their word for the nitrox ratio because it was wrong on one tank.
We had a good time because we were on vacation and had something to laugh about every day.

Lynn couldn't have been nicer or more helpful on the phone setting up the dive and in the shop dealing with equipment. Brad and Storm really helped a lot on the boat getting gear (with my 12 and 14yo new divers) set-up.
Nice equipment
Well appointed boat
Selection of sites seemed to be fitting the conditions.
I will use them again.

The crew and boat were excellent. I felt very safe and had full confidence in the crew. Unfortunately I did not dive this day because I was very seasick but that is no fault of the crew. They took every step possible to make me comfortable until we returned to port - above and beyond what I would have expected. I would highly recommend both this boat and some strong seasick medication.

Went diving on a rough day and one of the boat motors went out making the trip in very long... Rough waters and dive boats don't mix well needless to say. By the time we made it in the inlet the motor was smoking out the few of us that were underneath the captain. I would highly suggest to you to never take the operators word about "sea conditions" and check for yourself... This didn't make for a good dive day.

The dive boat is conveniently located at Phil foster Park. Once you arrive and unload your gear from your car, Brad will load everything onto the boat for you. So nice, no need to lug your gear. Lynn at the desk is super nice while she checks you in.
Captain Jason makes great drops - puts you right where you need to go. Diving is with a guide so no getting lost. Crew is really helpful and nice.
The boat is roomy and there is a big v-berth for your dry stuff. Two ladders make getting back in quick. The only thing needed to make this boat perfect is a hot water shower.
Try them out, they are really great 😀

Had a great week of diving with Little Deeper Charters. Did 3 days of reef and wrecks with 3 days at Blue Heron Bridge. Had great rental equipment (tanks and weights) and were very accommodating! Our guides Brad and Craig were awesome and helped us with everything we needed. Will definitely use them for diving the area again and would recommend them to anyone!!!
