Santa Rosa has a very beautiful beach with white powdery sand. The beach is very clean with beautiful sunsets. Great little coffee shop nearby where we stayed with delicious croissants. Seaside (right next door) about a 15 minute drive over there (if that) provided "shop till you drop" shopping opportunities of all kinds. There was an Italian Restaurant in walking distance of our condo that was over the top delicious. We always drive over to Hunt's Oyster Bar in Panama City when close by. It's a "have to" for us when we are nearby. That was about an hour's drive away. We just hung out in the condo a lot to rest and read our books. It was all wonderful!!!!

Pluses: Clear Blue Water, Beautiful Powdery Sand, Very Little Waves, Clean Restrooms
Minuses: CROWED & people will set on top of you!! People Parking in compact spaces when they shouldn’t.. Also people go out on the beach early to save places, putting their stuff out & then go back in their houses, condos and come out when ready. Life Guard is so distracted with cell phone that I literally NEVER seen him look up. Kids every where unsupervised. Jellyfish were in abundance..

Blue Mountain Beach is the closest beach to the rental house we get for the week . It is a nice beach , it does tend to get a bit crowded and there is never any parking. It’s on .5 miles from our house though so we do enjoy walking to the beach to see the sunset . It is clean . The bathrooms are small but clean. There is a place to rinse off . We enjoy going here . White powdery sand and beautiful colors in the ocean waters . We have seen dolphins swimming by on occasion .

Beach is beautiful, but area is way too crowded. Rental homes are too expensive for what you get, beaches do not have enough parking. It's hot and crowded, and quite miserable during the summer. The water is full of seaweed and sea lice, which is just nature, but it's so hot, it's downright miserable. Go during the off season if you want a good experience at a more reasonable price.

The water is crystal clear like the Caribbean. Absolutely gorgeous! White sand beach. The area we were in had a private beach for that condo so the beach was not crowded at all. Umbrella and chair rental was available. There is a lot of congestion on the roads and along the roadsides with people parking cars and golf carts everywhere.

This is our family's new 30A favorite. We rented a house here in August 2021 for kids / grandkids, and found this to be less crowded, very family friendly beach compared to other 30A beaches we've enjoyed in prior years. We rented chairs / umbrellas in advance, but noticed others were able to do same day rentals. Walked to Blue Mountain Creamery every night for ice cream, a huge hit! We will be back to stay here again.

Florida beaches on the Gulf Coast are composed of white sugary sand and are kept immaculately clean by both State and local public services. The day we went, there were very few people and those that were there kept social distance. The parking area is well maintained as are the steps, changing rooms and bathrooms. There is no clutter and everyone polices their own area even filling in holes dug by children creating sand castles to protect wild life coming onto the beaches at night. The conservation department reps were always handy and willing to provide information and tips about the locale. We thoroughly enjoyed Blue Mountain Beach.

I really enjoyed my beach run here. Very low key and relaxed vibe at this location! Family friendly. Sugar white sand and emerald color water. One special place!

Is there a company stationed at Blue Mountain Beach doing chair and umbrella setups as you walk on and arrive at the beach like they have in Miramar Beach? I see a few companies you can book online but just wondering if there’s a company who’s there at the beach so I dont have to plan in advance.

Yes, there is a company doing rentals. You need to go down early to catch them during setup time.

Is blue mountain beach good for skimboarding? Is it crowded? I don't like have several rows of people in front me.

It is less crowded than any other beach I’ve been to on 30A or Destin and especially Panama City. As a matter of fact, there were guys skim boarding right in front of us. There are no “rows” of people on this beach. We loved it. I’m not crazy about crowds and this was perfect, even on July 4th week.

We are trying to decide between staying in Blue Mountain Beach or Rosemary Beach.
The reviews of Blue Mountain make me lean towards It.
We are a family of 6-8 people and looking for rental suggestions for either on the beach or very close walking walking distance. Looking ahead for next July.
Both The Sanctuary at Redfish and Adagio look nice but some reviews throw me off.

We only go to this area as a couple. So we don't know much about larger rentals. But we have stayed in both areas and much prefer the Blue Mt beach.

Hi Tim, we are headed to Blue Mountain the last week of this month. I am personally looking forward to just chilling on the beach but we have kids and grand kids ages 1-30 who may want to do something more. Can you tell me what "activities" are referring to in your post?

Has the sandbar in that area returned? After last year's storms, the sandbar washed up on the beach doubling the beaches' size.

It will be too cold to go to the beach, I'd wait until April or go further south in Florida. As far as accommodations, I'd look into renting a condo or a small house. We've visited the area in late March in the past and it was hit or miss on the beach as far as swimming. The water doesn't start to warm up until April.
