Fantastic beach. The enormous amount of space and the sand are incomparable. It makes sense that it is considered to be among the world's top beaches.

The fine sand, the clear water and the very healthy environment. Very good weather although there were rainy afternoons. Magnificent beach! Keep going!

This place was f’d up with literal swarms of mosquitoes attacking you. I’ve never experienced anything like it and I’m from Texas. They are undoubtedly the largest mosquitoes I have ever encountered and definitely not swarms! Mosquito repellant isn’t an option in the hot sun. No, I definitely won’t be back and can’t recommend it to my worst enemy! LOL

A superb beach on the west coast of Florida. The sand is very fine and very white. Interestingly, it is very easy to walk barefoot because the sand remains cool even in great heat
During our passage, Hurricane Debby had just passed so the ocean was not at its calmest. Having visited it during a previous stay, the color of the water is more like that of the Caribbean. Unfortunately on my current photos you will see the ocean somewhat rough!

Reading the reviews and also the various blogs or guides you expect a dream beach, the reality is very different, the beach is undeniably white but under layers and layers of seaweed, crows (I wrote crows not seagulls) to profusion, sea of a beautiful yellow .... But do we come from Italy to be fooled by these tourist traps?

They provided great service and wonderful quality chairs and umbrellas. We used them every day at the beach. All staff were great! Blake was very helpful.

I grew up on this beach in Sarasota, FL. It has saddened me to watch it turn into such a tourist toilet now and locals just cannot enjoy going like before. It is just not fun or convenient to go there anymore. The only time you can truly go there and not be pushed out or crowded out by unruly, disrespectful, sometime drunken idiots...mostly tourists or part timers...is during storms.

The quartz-crystal WHITE powdery sand between my toes and the warm Gulf waters keeps me returning to Siesta Key Beach. Parking at some of the Public Beach acces is very limited so it is best to stay within walking distance. The Main Public Beach Access does have a large parking lot. I personally dislike this beach access point because it tends to be busy. I prefer one of the more quite beach access points and typically use #2.

We lived in Florida for almost 30 years but this is my first time visiting Siesta Key. I can't tell you enough how surprised we were, one of the best beaches I have ever visited. Breathtaking, amazing views, best place for sunset, clean white sand that never gets hot. The town is very cute, many places to eat or have a cocktail, dessert, ice cream, doughnuts. Plenty of rentals and convenient location. Highly recommend!

If there is any ordinance banning thongs, it is not enforced at Siesta Key near Sarasota Florida. I see many women and a growing number of men in speedos and even some in thongs. Women are not allowed to go topless here, but they can wear any kind of bottom. I've seen extreme thongs with only strings in back and a tiny triangle in front.
I'm not sure about St. Augustine, but for many years Daytona Beach to the south has been the same as Sarasota is now--almost anything goes at the beach short of topless. I suspect St. Agustine is like Daytona now.
If you want a nude beach south of Daytona, Playa Linda Beach near Titusville is effectively a nude beach, but closed during rocket launches.

I think its about 3 hours and 30 minute drive one way...seems like a long time to be in the car for 1 day....that's about 7 hours total.... but hey that's up to you.

We are a family with 2 kids ages 6 and 9 travelling from London. We are planning 6 nights in Disney world and 4 nights around Siesta beach. Any thoughts on the itinerary please? Anything you would suggest?

Rent a boat at a Marina for a half a day or full day it is very easy to navigate the boat the kids will LOVE it, its near captain Curts restaurant, also if you want to try a great Rum its called Siesta Key Rum, its made in Siesta Key and you can do a quick tour of it and try some samples its located about 15 mins north of Siesta keys also you can use the free trolly during the day at night they have a shuttle van that you pay for you tip the driver as you're getting out, its cheap and easy to get around, the beach is 99% quartz which means its a beautiful white sand that never gets hot which means you can walk bare footed on the beach and your feet will NOT get hot Sunday evening before sundown on the local beach they have a bunch of people that get together and play the drums definitely worth checking out it sounds really cool and its right on the beach and its a beautiful sun set and its free

Like others have stated, there are signs along the street letting you know that the Trolley stops there. You may have to wait a little bit. It is the best way to get around especially in the crowded areas.
