My husband and I decided to go for a drive and we happen upon this preserve. We decided to stop in and have a look around and we were so surprised to find this beautiful little hidden gem. The park was extremely clean, plenty of places to sit, and there was an observation tower that we climbed, and could see the entire beautiful preserve. We saw quite a few wildlife. Their places that you can put your kayak in or to canoe and leisurely paddle your way down some magnificent scenery. we took the walkways and trails and found such peace and tranquility. On the other side we drove and there was extra parking and a spot for larger boats to put into the water. We also found large pavilions to hold parties at there was children’s playground the bathrooms were very clean , the playground looked well maintained as well. Overall, we found this hidden gem to be one of our new favorite places to come to to get peace and quiet, and just become one with nature. The preserve is not far from Jenkins boat dock and down further there’s a beach there’s plenty of places to eat and places to find seafood. I highly recommend you check this preserve if you need some free time or just some quiet time. You’ll find the piece that you need to relax and unwind from the everyday grind. It’s a great place to take kids, there’s plenty of parking. There’s handicap spots. The atmosphere is fresh and clean and beautiful.

I wonderful place to paddle.. We saw lots of wildlife. It was a joy to paddle all the way out to the Gulf

Confusing signage and after driving round to the car park there was a sign saying the boardwalk and the park were closed (due to construction I think)
This isn't mentioned on the website!
We walked up the tower for a good view and saw some manatees in the water below.

They were too far to see much more. This place was not on the schedule. Glad we ran into it even though it was raining. I really don’t understand why I have 105 drafts on trip advisor like this one from a few years ago

Went kayaking and saw several mantee. Beautiful water ways with several little cove areas. Water was calm and clear. Good and easy kayak launching area . Enjoyed some fishing on the docks across the road. Lots of bites

This small park has attributes that can appeal to folks with many different interests. For us it was an opportunity to see manatees.

This was a seasonal sighting and being at the park at the beginning of January we knew there was a good chance of seeing manatees and so it proved. There were around 20 of them in the waterway close to the viewing tower and the road bridge over the waterway. Note parking at this park is free, just across the road at Jenkins Creek they are charging $10 flat rate to park though from what I saw, no-one was bothering to pay!

During the week in Feb. when I was visiting the area, I had a chance to walk down the road and over to the park. We were looking for the manatees who, when it is chilly out, come to hang out in the waters of the park. Alas, not a one on the day we had walked over. It is one of many places in the area to get a good walk in and to also view pretty scenery.

Just happened to stop at this little park as my husband and i were scouting out areas to fish. There are lovely docks to fish from here and at the neighboring Jenkins Creek Park. (across the road). There are picnic tables, an observation tower and boardwalk along the canal (Jenkins creek) along with bathroom facilities.
Best of all, there were also manatees warming up in the creek along one of the boardwalks! What a lovely surprise that was!!
Well worth the stop!!

Looked one a nice place for a walk with our pups. No where on the website or in the review does it mention no dogs.

The boat ramp is located on the west side of Shoal Line Road, across from Linda Pedersen Park. There is also a parking area for your vehicle & trailer.

Saw this. Brought dogs. Big signs everywhere NO DOGS ALLOWED . Have no idea the reason but we have our pups with us. Mad . No reason for no dogs

You will need a visitor fishing license to fish even off the piers. In the estuary regions a combined salt/fresh water is suggested. Check details on line Florida fish and wildlife. enjoy your trip.
