Good for a cheap night of baseball
We go to a LOT of minor league games when we travel, so I feel confident saying that this was not one of the better experiences we had. The appeal of minor league is the fan experience. You are close to the field. There are interactive activities between innings. There are mascots walking the stands. Here there was a focus on Yankee's tradition. Yankees's excellence. Yankees. Yankees. Yankees. No mascot. Very little commentary or fun noises on foul balls. No ... fun. But tickets were provided by a local bank that night and there were deals at the concession stand so I guess you get what you pay for.

Great Yankee fan experience
2021年3月 • 家庭
If you are a Yankee fan, this is a Must Do at some point in your life. What a fun and up close experience. It is a blast to see the stars and the newbies altogether and watch your team play other stars in the league up close and personal. Due to Covid restrictions you can’t get autographs right now, but the players toss all game balls into the stands after every inning. We scored 2 balls in 3 games. Don’t miss having smaller capacity at the game, but it also isn’t as intense.

The stadium as a whole is nice. There is a “Memorial Park” of sorts out front. There are 2 shops for merchandise. The one at the front of the stadium is 2 stories. There is another smaller one in right field.

If you are looking for shade, you will want the upper seats throughout or mid to upper on the first base side. Something to take into consideration in the Florida sun, especially if you are there for the 9 inning games.

Food and beer prices are among the average for all of the stadiums. The tickets that we bought at Yankee stadium included food, so I can’t speak to that. Bottled water was $5, hot dogs cheaper than Toronto’s stadium, but their water was cheaper. It all evens out. Merchandise was a little pricey, but I’ll pay it since I can’t get it in Texas, except for online. They didn’t have anything with the year on it like last year. Guess they lost some $ when the season was cut short.

Pro Tip: We purchased reserved parking this year. That is the way to go. Parking up close near the front of the stadium, not on grass or gravel, easy in and out. That will be the new normal for us.

A great experience that we will remember forever. So many fans from all over and everyone chats (love that about NY fans). When you are chanting “Let’s go Yankees” in a Yankee stadium, there is nothing else like it. Go Yankees!

A storied franchise but why NYC prices for Spring Training?
I've been to NYC many, many times but have yet to make it out to the Bronx. Catching a game between the Yankees and my home town Blue Jays at Steinbrenner Field seemed the next best thing and, it was.

It was a beautiful, sunny, hot day in early March and we had decent seats and were joined in the park by many Jays fans. This was our first baseball game since October and we thoroughly enjoyed the game. As well the facilities seem first class and the sight lines were excellent. I personally enjoyed seeing a live game played on a field that has the same dimensions as Yankee Stadium in NYC.

So, what's not to like? Well, we're not in New York and it's spring training. The outcome of the game doesn't mean a thing and the normal starters are in for 1/2 the game at most. So $45/ticket is more that 4X the price of a ticket to see the Blue Jays play on their home diamond in nearby Dunedin. Also, the day we were there, the direct access from the parking not too far away at to which we were directed by Waze was intentionally closed. There were many, many available spaces but the road signage was directing everyone to paid parking. We walked.

If I'm at a real MLB game I would expect big league prices for food. This isn't NYC, the field is home to the Tampa Tarpons for the regular season. I would have loved to have had a Hot Dog and a Beer but declined to partake due to the prices.

I'm glad we caught a game at Steinbrenner but I suspect it will be a one time thing.

Good night at the ballpark

As a life long Yankee fan we always try to catch them when they are in the state of FL. We ended up getting these tickets free when we did the Sprint to Spring 5k. It was Gerrit Cole’s debut. We had a good time and the concession pricing really wasn’t that bad. The park is beautiful.

Spring training game March 2020

Great time at Steinbrenner stadium! The facility is great for both families with young children and adults just out to enjoy some good baseball. We were lucky we got there before they shutdown Spring training for this year. We loved all of the bars and food choices. We will definitely go back next time we’re in the Tampa area!

Overall a Disappointing Experience
2020年3月 • 家庭
I will start with the good:

1. The stadium provides an intimate baseball experience. Kids can see the players up close and there isn’t a bad seat in the house.

2. Pearling prices are reasonable and only a short distance from the stadium.

That’s about it.

Which brings us to the bad:

1. Ticket prices are astronomical to watch Major Leaguers play a short period of time.

2. After the first few days of spring training the practice schedule is not published and there is not a good way to determine when you can take the family to watch the game.

3. Kids cannot walk up to the wall in the lower levels during BP prior to the game. My children were very disappointed they could not get close to the players. It is also disappointing for the price of the ticket.

4. Food is pricey. Major league prices for minor league ball.

5. Security staff is rude and dismissive when asked mundane questions about how spring training works.

Overall, this was a bust for my family and I recommend you think hard before dumping a lot of money into this trip. If you want to pay NYC prices, make the trip to the Stadium.

Out of Everything
A great ball field but a amazingly lacking attention to detail. StubHub tickets are required and phone needed for entry. You might think a phone stubhub ticket is everywhere but not at the Spectrum ball field (Phillies) were you can use a printout. It's basically a nightmare for entry. Before the game I went to the men's restroom. There is a sink on opposites sides. 3 out of 4 soap containers were empty. The news constantly tells us to wash our hands because of the coronavirus, and then no soap. The single attendant was busy filling the empty hand paper dispensers. UGH! It's a nice stadium and we waited until the 4th inning to get some food. Two large concession stands and the same menu on each, thus limited choices. My chicken tender meal would be rated a one star. Probably baked hours before, hard exterior dry chicken on top of cold fries. Okay, I went for some mustard to maybe soften up the hard crust and guess what - Empty containers! The management of this field needs a tongue-lashing from corporate.

great ball game
The ball park is a wonderful place to see a ball game. I come once a year to see the Yankee's play. The only thing it was cold this year.
