Really nice collection in a beautiful space. We went on a Sunday, very quiet. There is a docent tour at 2 but we browsed on our own. Nice to learn about Leepa and Rattner and their works. Beautiful display of dance photos! We will go back for the rotation display when it opens. There are nice spaces to sit and reflect. There is also a nice outdoor space overlooking a fountain and pond. Highly recommend this hidden gem in north Palm Harbor-Tarpon.

I'm an art major and really love the Expressionist paintings of Americans in Paris such Abraham Rattner. There's a Florida Art Collection and rotating exhibits. Lovely building and friendly staff.

Beautiful building and excellent permanent and rotating exhibits. Highly recommend attending the Sunday docent tour at 2:00.

Definitively not my cup of tea. Was in the area and had never heard of these artists. Very little modern art is really attractive or interesting and most copy from Picaso and his contemporaries.

I live very close to this museum. I had about a half an hour and I wanted to walk through the museum and get a sense of it, perhaps return at another time with my husband. I made a generous donation and told the women at the desk I would just like to take a quick walk through by myself. Well I don’t know if the guide thought I was going to steal something or if she was just bored, but she refused to let me enjoy the museum by myself. She insisted on telling me about every piece, and detail the history of the museum. At least 4 times I told her I enjoy touring alone, but she wouldn’t take the hint. When I was finally finished touring the first section I asked again, can I please just quickly walk through the next 2 rooms by myself. Then she starts going into the histories of the founders of the museum. Frustrated, I stormed out in a huff, very uncharacteristic of me. To the remaining woman at the desk, I said “she won’t let me see the museum on my own”. Wow. Worst experience ever. I wish I had gotten my donation refunded. I’m sure many people would have been thrilled to have a personal guide. But I didn’t have the time or the interest. I don’t know how I could have made that clearer.

I was blown away by this place, easily spent more than an hour there. Learning the history & backgrounds of these two artists was special, interesting for an art history interested person. The traveling/special exhibits have been interesting, high level art. Perfect for educated, elitist people, haha but - seriously surprisingly good museum. Not everyone would appreciate. A gem in the town, on the campus of St Petersburg College's Tarpon Springs campus. I will return regularly, and will recommend to friends.

This museum was established with donations of works by artists Abraham Rattner, Esther Gentle and Allen Leepa. It also has temporary exhibits (most recent of works by Louise Chase) and a permanent collection. Well worth a visit to learn more about Rattner, who had a career spanning Paris, New York, and DC, and whose close friends and collaborators include Henry Miller.

We made the trip from the Orlando area specifically for this museum. Very nice building with an excellent collection. It's on the campus of St Petersburg College and is easy to find. Our visit was the Sunday after Thanksgiving so the campus was empty. The docent, Nancy, led an informative and enthusiastic tour. Highly recommend!!

セント・ピーターズバーグ・カレッジの広い校内に図書館と並んでありました。絵画はラットナーと彼の義理の息子のリーパーのものがほとんどで、後は現在画家の作品が数点あるのみでした。グラフィック作品はシャガール、ピカソ、レジェなどもありました。

The Leepa Rattner Museum is located in Tarpon Springs, off the beaten path on St Pete Campus. It is over 50,000 sq ft of wonderful art works by Rattner and Leepa with works from Picasso and Chigal sprinkled in. The current special exhibit is the art and life of Martin Balin, the fouonder of Jefferson Airplane and a key player in developing the songs of the 60s and the music festival culture of the day. He was a great musician and also a very accomplished artist. If you are baby boomer, you will enjoy the exhibit. Rattner's work is also unique and very moving. He straddled the line between cliassical and modern art. This museum is excellent in that you can easily spend a few hours there without realizing it.

While the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art is geared more for adults, as are most art museums, it does have an interactive gallery which is great for kids to express their creativity. In addition, it features art classes for kids and a Leap into Art program on the third Wednesday of every month, which includes stories and related crafts. A child is never too young to be exposed to art! Visit the LRMA website for programs and to see what kind of exhibitions are on view.
