Just a wonderful experience. The lady that's in charge is spectacular. She knows her stuff! The other animals are good but these elephants are fantastic! Worth the day trip.

It’s interesting if you are an adult and are interested in learning about elephants. Not really a tour, involves mostly sitting and listening to the owner give information on elephants and answer questions people asked. She was very knowledgeable. Kind of pricey for that but we really are okay with that if the money is used to care for the animals, which I don’t doubt it is. Didn’t really like the idea of people being offered to ride the elephants for extra money because I’m not sure that’s very pleasant for the elephants. We came with a 10 year old thinking it would be fun for her but she got very bored and restless because she wasn’t very interested in sitting and listening to adults asking questions. The tour involved seeing a camel and zebra and some lemurs in a pen, not much of a tour.

This place has received mixed reviews and I guess I understand that folks might be expecting more of a zoo-like experience, but that is not what this place is about. In the United States, elephants are on the verge of extinction, and this is the only private facility that keeps elephants safe and well taken care of. The property has been in the hands of the family for multiple generations, and they have a variety of different animals on site as well. These folks really care about the animals that they take care of and visiting them will give you a sense of how important this type of facility really is. Your visit will not take very long, but will be well worth it at twice the price.

We were enlightened, amused, and touched by he owner’s commentary and her love and devotion to these animals. I’m flabbergasted by some of these recent very negative reviews. $20 was a bargain for the experience and information that we learned. They nay-sayers must have a vendetta to post such untrue remarks. We witnessed no abuse. These animals are mammoth and are made for hard work. They’re not even aware that they’re carrying a 150# person on their back. To you unhappy people, perhaps you need to return and see this ranch through a different set of lenses because it’s a fabulous place and the only one in the country that will rescue these animals.

Tried to make reservations for group of ten, called repeatedly also emailed, told had to wait 10 days before date requested to book, called 5 different times , numerous excuses given first wanted to know if we were a group of 25 then too early to book, then 10 days out they didn’t have reservation book available,told to call next day, called early morning and was then told that day was booked, a Tuesday, definitely don’t recommend visiting, apparently not interested in small groups. Will cross off list of places to visit and donate money to

I was very sad for days after I left this facility. I should have done my research as this is NOT AN ANIMAL RESCUE. The elephants were handed down from her father and she bought the other two elephants. They are not there to live out their days in peace.
THESE ELEPHANTS ARE STRICTLY THERE FOR MONEY PURPOSES. THEY ELDERLY ELEPHANTS ARE TRANSPORTED TO THE CIRCUS IN CANADA AND THE BARNUM AND BAILEY CIRCUS TRUCKS ARE RIGHT ON THE PROPERTY.
I have been very ill and wanted to do something uplifting to my spirit and spend my money on something to help animal rescue. I was very sad to hear these are circus elephants only to be ridden and transported all over to do shows.
I'm extremely sensitive to animals and the way the owner spoke to them with a stick in hand it was plain to see these are not the loves of her life.
She unloaded us with statistics that were completely false as well as telling us the exact opposite about the elephant's demeanor. Saying they are not sensitive to things and if a mate dies they forget within a day etc. Just a total load of crap.
All of her elephants are 35 years and up which is considered senior and she is using them for rides, pictures, and a traveling circus.
IF YOU WERE EXPECTING AN ANIMAL RESCUE OR A LOVABLE PLACE I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

$20 to get in, 5$ to feed an elephant, 40$ for an elephant ride, and most of the time you wait in line for your turn. On a hot afternoon, it was boring, uncomfortable and felt like a rip off. There is more opportunity to observe elephants in a zoo than there is here. If you want to experience a more complete elephant encounter you can, that is, if you have $200.
Because advance reservations are required, I thought the experience was going to be more than just an expensive petting zoo where you don't even get to pet the animals. So I was disappointed to find a crowd of over a hundred people waiting to get in for a very limited exposure to these fascinating animals.

You might see many articles that say riding elephants does not hurt the elephants. However, this is false. Many of the riding elephants we have rescued have spine problems and terrible wounds on their backs from carrying heavy loads.Aug 18, 2020

There should be the ability for others to view animals while waiting for those who are doing photos, feeding and/or riding. The owner was strict about not roaming to see other animals although everything was in sight and things would not go unrecognized. The overall attitude from the owner and other worker was short and not very friendly. I'm pretty sure this is the next Tiger King experience.

It was average. The enclosures the animals were in were small, hopefully they have larger areas behind what public can see. The tour was less than an hour. The elephants are just trained animals they use for entertainment purposes which I’m not a fan of but they didn’t seem to be abused and the facilities they were in were well kept. To get photos with the elephants or do a ride you have to pay extra.

You can chose the close up encounter for $200 or go ala carte. The prices I remember are: admission =20, feeding =5, ride =40. They also have a picture with elephant option. With the encounter you also get one of the pictures that an elephant painted. It was worth the price to me.

There are several areas for camping/RVing. Gainesville is nearby and Ocala (Ocala National Forest). There is also Paynes Prairie State Park off I-75.

It was sooooo awesome and went WAY too fast. I can't recall how much longer the Extreme Encounter went, I'd say maybe an hour and a half or so longer than the normal admission. They don't rush you. You can ask as many questions as you want. As a parent, I'd advise joining your kids! It was one of THE most memorable things we ever shared together. If you don't want to join, it's very easy to watch. I'd do this again in a heartbeat!

The cost of the tour is $20 for adults. I think kids are $10 but I don't know what age is considered a kid. It's $5 is you want to hand feed an elephant and an individual photo op with Luke is $25. Look at allaboutelephants wensite for more information. We were there about 2 and 1/2 hours.
