The bridge is pretty unique to Georgia. We've been to the park for walks as well as birthday celebrations.

Enjoyed walking across bridge and reading history related to Cherokee Indian Removal Act. The park could use some beautification improvements but nice hidden gem.

Visited on the way back from driving in the hills seeing the colours of the leaves....

Car park area which led to a small play area for the kids, and a large covered area for eating and a few barbecue areas.
You can’t get cars down by the bridge, but only 200 yards from the car park. You can walk to both sides of the bridge, which was pretty, especially with the colours.....

Picturesque, and as a result seem to be in place for photos... shame about the little bit of graffiti on the ends of both sides which ruined a couple of the photos, but can be removed later... thank you “class of 2019”!!... You really know how to degrade your historic structures

I had heard of this place all my life but had never been. Didn’t know was so close to where we live. Great place for picnic or to just play in the water. Most of the picnic tables are shaded and if your lucky you might snag a table by the river. The falls are flat and you can walk out in the water. There is a covered bridge, one of the 12 in Georgia. It is dog friendly. Great place to spend the day.

Took my grandson here to help him learn the DSLR camera I gave him. It was pouring rain most of the time but still had a good time. Takes less than an hour to see the park but as others have mentioned, there is a covered place to picnic.

A very nice park with plenty of parking. There is one pavilion with a charcoal grill, several picnic tables, a large stream, playground for the kids. There is a very old wooden covered bridge that you can walk through to an area that used to be a mill. There's a big area of flat rocks in the stream that the kids can play on.

The existing Poole’s Mill Covered Bridge has existed since 1901 and it replaces and earlier uncovered version that existed since the early 1800’s. There are a handful of these bridges in and around Georgia and they are so cool to see. It is upsetting to see graffiti on them, though. Outside of that, the bridge is in really good shape!

The park here is well kept and has many activities: a playground for little kids, a covered area for grilling and eating, a small waterfalls, and hiking trails. I can’t wait to come back with my pups.

There is a decent size free parking lot. One of the things I think I enjoyed the most was the drive here. There are actually still a lot of horse farms still located in the area which are becoming fewer and far between in this area of Georgia so it was a pretty drive. The park is extremely easy to find.

Recently there has been talk of naming the covered bridge in Stone Mtn Park after the name of the Black man who built it, his name is MR. King. I heard he built as many as 10 bridges and 6 ? are still around.
The bridge in Stn Mtn was moved there in 1964,when I was 9 years old, it was moved there from Athens. In the picture it is an almost a exact example of the Stn Mtn covered bridge. I thought it was that bridge. I bet Mr King built this one as well.

06Jan19 was a beautiful day (temperatures in the upper 60s) in the metro Atanta area for a mid-afternoon motorcycle ride. On a whim, we did an online search for covered bridges and found this Forsyth County Park with very good Trip Advisor ratings just a short (less than an hour) ride from home. I do agree with with PatriotGal's suggestion that restroom facilities are needed. 2018 in Georgia brought the 2nd highest rainfall in recorded history. There is a paved access road within a few yards of the parking lot but Forsyth County might want to consideradding a hardsurfaced path. The dirt has been so washed out that people with a mobility disabiity have to choose between that detour and maneuvering down the stairs and the long way around to the bridge and impressive falls (the roar is glorious right now). Also, directional signs to the handicapped parking woud be in order. We plan to visit again soon.
