It's a curiosity of Causse Méjean, a huge limestone plateau and suddenly, this natural circus in the middle of nowhere. It takes courage to get down, the road is not very wide and winding but the village and the waterfall are worth a visit.

The circus consists of an ancient meandering of the Screw that carved a canyon in the limestones of the Jurassic. You can admire it from 2 viewpoints: that of La Baume-Auriol, at 618 m altitude [presence of a Site House (closed during the visit) and a restaurant (closed also) and that of Blandas (to the north). You can go down a narrow road to the hamlet of Navacelles (paid parking): desert (apart from tourists), a little abandoned and where there are some cottages and bars (closed). There is a church (also closed) and the Old Bridge. There is the path of the postman (yellow beacon), from the viewpoint of La Baume-Auriol, which leads to the hamlet of Navacelles (2 km, 1 hour for 320 m of elevation, known difficult).

This summer we went to the Circus of Navacelles , more precisely to the Belvedere of Blandas. The access road is winding and not very wide. If you drive carefully, there will be no problem. However, be careful if you have people among your passengers who are afraid of the "empty".
Arriving at the site of Blandas, three lookouts allow you to overlook the Grand Site de France of the Circus of Navacelles. These viewpoints (of the Doline, the Oaks and the Cascade) will allow you to admire this magnificent natural site. The Blandas gazebo is accessible to people with reduced mobility from the PMR car park. The building has a catering service, and a tourist office. We were very well received and very knowledgeable. A big thank you to the hostess.

After the beautiful viewpoint but very windy, we drove down to the bottom of the circus. The road is narrow and the
Going to 2 is sometimes difficult but in September there is no shuttle!
Not too much traffic. Free parking in the village.
Below we walked the 10 km of the mill promenade starting from the left side of the river , as arrow. Good shoes are necessary because there are big pebbles on the way. Very nice walk of medium difficulty (3h30). And on the way back we ate a very good pancake at mas Guilhou.

Beautiful place, we drove up to the viewpoint of Mont Auriol which offered a beautiful viewpoint. To go down to the hamlet, a 45min hike indicated “the postman’s path” - quite slippery despite the good weather... we did not do everything and went up to the top, it was very good too! I advise you to visit the website for more information.

En voiture/moto, à vélo, avec les navettes (en saison), en randonnée ... il existe de multiples manières de découvrir ce site merveilleux.
Les points de vue (belvédères) sont un bon moyen de découvrir l'ensemble d'en haut puis de descendre pour partir à la découverte du village.
Il existe de multiples parcours de randonnées, pour tous les niveaux, et c'est aussi un bel endroit pour une pause déjeuner ou une baignade (fraîche) à la cascade.
Les points de vue (belvédères) sont un bon moyen de découvrir l'ensemble d'en haut puis de descendre pour partir à la découverte du village.
Il existe de multiples parcours de randonnées, pour tous les niveaux, et c'est aussi un bel endroit pour une pause déjeuner ou une baignade (fraîche) à la cascade.

A must-see place in the upper cantons of Montpellier and the Causses.
Suggested hike for average walkers, the Foux mills. Yellow markings. From the car park, go down to the bridge over the vis, cross it and take the path which goes down the side of the valley, you pass through the valley of the oven overlooking the vis. Follow the yellow markings until you reach the road which you go up to reach the car park above the mills. Go down the path until the resurgence of the vis to visit the water mills, and leave on the opposite side, most often, along the river where you can picnic at the water's edge.
10km walk with a maximum elevation gain of 110m. Great day which can end with refreshments in the village.

Bonjour, à plusieurs reprises des loups ont été identifiés officiellement dans le secteur. Dans le Abruzzes italiennes et en Espagne, on peut admirer ces beaux animaux avec des guides spécialisés. Existe t-il de telles possibilités ici ou ... faut -il aller à l'étranger pour voir ces loups ? Merci.

pour le belvédère, aucun problème. puis vous pouvez descendre en
voiture et vous rendre au café ou au bord de la Vis. Mais, si vous voulez un peu marcher, voir la cascade, prendre le pont cela va être difficile.... Bonne ballade !

sur le cirque même c'est une grosse fréquentation en période touristique. sur la rando en particulier, c'est aussi très fréquenté car elle peut être faite partiellement depuis plusieurs points donc d'un accès facile pour tous.

It's summer, it'll be hot and dry... If you're nearby go and visit but do it in the morning when the light is better and temperatures not so high.
There's a giftshop/tourist info you can call. The lady is very nice and will answer all your questions.
