We wanted to visit Lanes as my dad has worked here when he was a teenager. At first we were going to eat lunch here but decided on another spot. I thought it was a typical restaurant. It is more like a deli. You walk up place and order they call your number and you pick up your food. Now this is not bad if know what you are getting. I did partake in the fried pie and peach ice cream and both were great.
The store has a very good variety more I think than a typically souvenir place. Many things made of peaches, pecans and strawberries and they grow all here. We did limit our purchases and picked what we though would give us most bang for our buck. Decided on a large bag of unshelled pecans. Knowing they could make many things back home. I have to say they are delicious.
We were there before the peach season but I will tell you the strawberry patch was wonderful. We went down and picked our own. They were huge and delicious. As we were traveling in our RV I kept them in the fridge unwashed in the open bucket they give you to pick with and they last the whole 10 week trip and still had some to make strawberry bread with when got back home.
They have many great things I do not get back in Texas so go with an open mind and just buy a sample of what they do here.

We have for the 3rd year. Purchased more peaches fir jam. Staff are super nice. Purahased fress made bread too. The shop is veteran friendly.

Every Memorial Day weekend we visit Lane with our extended family. It’s fascinating to watch the packing of the peaches. The cafe is awesome. We usually get ice cream and cobbler. Usually peach and sometimes strawberry ice cream. I am assuming they make all the food there from their fresh produce. The store has a lot of great unique finds. Many sauces , rubs , jellies and old fashioned bottled soda and wines. They have t shirts and flags also. We just love it. We also return right before coming home to WV and buy boxes of fresh peaches. My list of people who want these peaches grows every year. They are sooooo good. Our favorite place to visit on our trip.

We stopped here for lunch. When I ordered a hamburger, which was about $6.95 I think, the cashier asked if I wanted everything on it or plain. I said, "Everything," not realizing I would be charged extra for every little piece added other than meat and bun. When I got the receipt, she charged 25 cents for one pickle, 25 cents for two leaves of lettuce, 25 cents for on onion round, and 25 cents for one tomato. I feel like this is price-gouging. I've never paid for every little thing for a hamburger before. The fries came with the meal, but I didn't eat those. The drinks are over $2 each. On the plus side, the bathroom was clean. I was very disappointed in the prices. I don't mind paying for good food but was not happy about the surcharges. If this was on the menu board, I missed it.

Not what it used to be. Tourist trap, dirty, expensive and poor quality. Peach ice cream was terrible and made me sick. 35 dollars half bushel of peaches. Recommend stopping another place

We stopped at Lanes since we were staying in Perry. Since it wasn’t the season for peaches we picked up a couple of large jars of pickled peaches, some shelled pecans, some scrumptious strawberries, and a few other novelties. Oh, and my wife had to have some peach ice cream. We always try to stop by here when we’re in the area and Lanes never disappoints.

Today we were trying to find something to do with our 4 year old and our 3 year old boys that was close by. We decided to go to Lanes. It was a beautiful area and we knew they had good food and a playground. However, after we ordered food and went to a picnic table our 3 year old was playing in the picnic area and got into an ant bed. They immediately covered his body. Thankful, they only stung him on his back once. That was such a blessing. It frightened him terribly. My daughter had to take all his clothes off as fast as she could. They had covered him.
I was appalled that the area had not been exterminated for ant beds knowing that many children are in the area. I reported it to management. They sprayed them within the hour. But shouldn’t that be checked before the area is open?
That traumatic event was followed by going to the playground area only to find that it had rained and a large puddle of water was at the bottom of the slide. That could have easily been maintained by adding chips or filling it in with the materials they use on the playground which appeared to be some sort of chips.
Also, the middle Georgia area is limited in places to take children. The playground could add so many more things of interest. Lanes is a booming business. I am sure an investment in the playground would not be difficult.
Hopefully the management will have someone to check the playground and maintain it on a daily basis. I failed to mention that the hinges on the swing set were also rusted and squeaking. It is in need of maintenance.
Lanes is one of my favorite places to go, but today I saw that somebody needs to pay more attention!

We were visiting relatives in Macon and they took as to this very interesting store. You can sample fresh pecans and crack then yourself. We arrived at almost closing time but we were able to get salted pecans, chocolate covered pecans and peach bread. They have tours of the farms during season. We will return.

This is a must stop place if you are passing by. The little cafe is first class and serves all manner of home prepared food. Well worth a visit if you are passing by. We also took some peach pies home for our neighbors!! Wonderful food!!

Great place with more selection than I would have thought. All sorts of fruits and a great cafe. Nice gift shop, helpful employees and clean rest rooms. Parking lot is large, paved and level big enough if you're pulling a camper. We'll certainly return.
