The ride was nice. Enjoy the view of Downtown Helen. I love the horse he had a personality. The staff was nice.

We were interested in taking our son on his first carriage ride but that didn't happen due to the extremely rude guy who was leading. He seemed as if he didn't want to be there himself and the poor horse just looked sad. We first went to the other one on the main strip but he was very busy (now I know why, because he does an excellent job) and this place had only one person waiting ahead of us. We called earlier and made a reservation for 4pm and it was not a short walk, we didn't know that at the time so as we get there, the lady finally showed up and we informed her of our reservation and she said that the guy would be back soon so we waited (standing as there is no place to sit) Once the guy and horse arrived, he immediately told the other couple that they were next. They did not have a reservation and he didn't even greet us or bother to ask if we had one. Ok, so I'm already bothered by his rudeness so we informed him that we had a reservation, not to mention, there was plenty of room for us anyway but he proceeded to ask the couple if they would allow us to ride with them 😳. Ok so we walked off as he clearly didn't want our service. We spoke to another couple who had taken a ride with them earlier and they also said they wish they had gone elsewhere because the guy didn't say a word the whole trip. Just HORRIBLE service. GO TO THE OTHER ONE.

We were in Helen for New Year’s Eve and saw the horse drawn carriages going up and down the street. My kids enjoyed a horse drawn carriage tour in New Orleans and begged to go on this one. I was interested in learning the history of Helen myself and hoped to learn about it on the tour.
I asked the driver at the stand if they took cards, and he said it was cash only and directed me to the liquor store across the street for an atm. I took out $40 and gave him $20 for myself and my two kids. He said my 13 year old was an adult, so it would be $25. I gave him my other $20 and he said he didn’t have change. So we just stared at each other for a moment and finally he said we could ride for $20. Which was nice of him.
Sadly, there was no history or conversation on the tour. There was another woman and her dog in the carriage with us. The driver asked her and us where we were from and that was the limit of what was said to us on our ride. The woman with the dog asked what his “must sees” were in Helen and he waved at the shopping/nightlife area and said “You’re looking at it”. That’s it! No history, no trivia, no patter or explanation about anything. Just a silent ride down the Main Street, through a parking lot, and up a side street back to the hotel. He did give the kids carrots to feed the horse after, which was the highlight of the trip. The carrots and the $5 discount is why this has 3 instead of 2 stars.

I was delighted to see Billy Bob! We were lucky enough to catch them empty and got on immediately. The driver was friendly and engaging. We traded stories about horses and driving carriages. At the end of the tour I was introduced to the owner and she was very nice and we had an awesome conversation. I was so happy to see the horses out and about. I will absolutely support this company every time I visit. Till next time Billy Bob!

I rode through town several times on Saturday trying to find them. I spent two hours walking through shops and still didn't see them. According to their Facebook post they were loading at two towers. They were not there. Also stating they were open until 10 pm. I message them to see if we could get a ride around 8 pm and they said gone for today. Please change your hours according to seasons.

We just came to Helen for one night and my girls wanted to ride in one of the carriages they saw going down the street the day before. So I found this company on google, which led me to there Facebook page. On their Facebook page, I found their address and it even mentioned that there was parking. I followed the directions my phone gave me. This took us to a parking lot and we could see the workers preparing the horses. A man approached the car and rudely stated that we were not allowed to be there and we needed to leave and never come back. He told us we could wait for the horses on the street. I tried to explain to him that his Facebook page led us there, but he did not want to hear any of it. He was rude from the start and had a nasty attitude for the entire, brief conversation. Once I finally rolled my window up, because he was not gonna stop trying to argue with me, we left. I did not want to give them my business after that, but the kids were so excited. So we went to find the spot on the street where they pick up. And let me tell you, none of that was worth it. $30 for a 10 minute ride around one block. Nothing about the ride was special and it is definitely not worth the money.

Don't use horse drawn carriages! My boyfriend and I watched several horses forced to pull several people uphill in carriages. This is so sad for the horses, being forced to stand in traffic with cars all around. I cant imagine how tired the horses must be. I wouldn't give money to a company that promotes this kind of treatment of animals.

I’m giving it two stars only because the driver was amazing but I paid $100 for a ride after our wedding. I was told it would have a Just Married sign in the back which it didn’t and I wanted it for our pictures. Also I was asked what colors we were using in the wedding and they would put flowers on the horse and carriage to coordinate with the wedding. Unfortunately there was no flowers at all. Very disappointed with the experience. We paid the $100 for a ride the same length everyone else paid $10 each for with no extras. No flowers no sign and dont recommend for wedding purposes.

A short ride (15-20 minutes) in a covered Cinderella style carriage. Ride begins on River Street. You basically ride several blocks on a back street, then turn back onto Main Street and end up back in the middle of town. During the busy summer and fall seasons Main Street has bumper to bumper traffic. Very difficult for the horses to coexist with that many cars. Cost $10.00 per person. A nice break from walking around in the summer heat. My wife and I enjoyed our ride and will do it again the next time we visit the area.

We had a wonderful time on the Carriage Ride. ?Maggie & Spanky were great hosts. Very informative and friendly. Light rain, comfortable ride. Enjoyed greatly. Price was excellent. $10 per person. Thanks so much Alpine!
