This church,it's graveyard and a couple of buildings across the street are all that remain of a once thriving Quaker community(Wrightsboro),the site of the most southern migration of Quakers in America. The community settled a little less than one hundred years before the "Civil War"The church building is a beautiful monument to that history, the graveyard records the names of the ancestors of many of Georgia's leading families this church also has ties to the "Rock House" seven miles away the oldest stone house (built around 1785) with original floor plan intact. the church has a speaker box with several play buttons that broad cast different aspects of the history of the church and the Quaker community

Traveled here to see the church and the surrounding grave sites. Learned more more about the history than we expected. The bonus was the buildings across the street that are being repaired. Can't wait to come back in a few years and see what has been improved. Would try to come back when the church is open.

We wandered the grounds and looked at the ancient gravemarkers left behind by those who once populated this second oldest city in Georgia. Folks were gathering for services and were very friendly to us. Worth going a little out of the way to study something of our past - the site and area is well marked with historic information.

This was a Quaker settlement starting about 1768. It is in a rural area and the graves beside and behind the old church records about 200 years of Georgia back country history. Signs placed there give a good summary of that history.

This is a great piece of history if you like to venture off on scenic routes on your way to other various places around the CSRA. Wrightsboro Eoad stretches for miles so enjoy the entire road from Thomson To Augusta.

If you are into history and old cemeteries you have to see this. The graves are very old and several sign markers tell of the history of Wrightsboro.

A lot of history here! One of Georgia’s only Quaker settlements and the southernmost point of Quaker migration in North America.

Wrightsboro Church is the remains of an old Quaker settlement. In addition to the church is an interesting and old adjoining cemetery. It dates back as far as the 18th Century and has some Confederate and Revolutionary War soldiers. The cemetery is in very good condition.Across the road is a typical cabin and store of the period.
