We have long wanted to raft the Canyon section of the South Fork of the Payette River and finally were able to swing it in late August.
We had high expectations and these were met, and then some, by Cascade Raft & Kayak Company. Our guide, Shane and accompanying kayaker Sebastian, were wonderful. Shane was experienced, friendly, knowledgeable, and humorous. We will request him to guide us again on our next trip.
The trip has four Class IV and several Class III rapids, with stops at some hot springs and a nice beach for lunch. It was a great mix of occasional excitement, mellow floating and great scenery.
Anne was extremely patient and helpful answering all our questions by email before booking the trip. And the prices in their store were very reasonable.
We would highly recommend this trip and doing it with Cascade Raft & Kayak Co.

Casey & Shane truly enjoy what they do for a living and it shows when they are on-duty! Shane, our primary raft guide, really understands how to implement safety and fun especially during our family “re-introduction” to rafting. Cascade has been in business for decades and the experience was amazing!! Next time, we will surely attempt the next level-up!! Robby, Lucia, Eddie & Socorro(not pictured: Gabriela, Ely & Grandbabies) HAPPY 60th BDAY Robby!

Cascade Raft & Kayak is family owned and world class in professionalism and safety!
If this is your first time on a river or your 100th time you will have an exciting and safe experience.
Our Guide, Sebastian, is from Chile, which added to the experience as we asked about his country and culture.
Idaho has some of the best white white water in the world. Kayakers come from many countries to play on the Payette River.
Cascade has a Kayak school if you want to try it out.

We had a blast on their family adventure (Class II, III) on a most epic weather day & last week of summer fun! Mac was our guide and she is an excellent one at that, even pulling me back into the raft before i really went over! LOL, wish that was caught on camera! Can't wait to go back next year!

Our family of 5 spent one week around this area, every trip we took ran like clockwork, friendliest staff ever, we felt safe and each time it was a blast! Thank you Cascade Raft for such a great time!

Loved the trip and our Guide Savannah was top notch. Savannah shared jokes and made sure everyone had the experience they wanted, from riding bull up front through the waves to some just wanting to sit and not get as wet. We went with our company but I plane to return with my Family and friends next year. Epic adventure. -Oscar (Nampa ID)

I have booked this trip for the last two years for my company. Last year we had about 30 people go rafting. This year we had 60. Our notice for the rafting trip was a little bit late notice but Cascade was able to shift some things around and accommodate our large group which was very much appreciated. We have added on the lunch/dinner option after rafting both years and the food is always way above expectations. This is a great company to raft with, everyone is very friendly and they go above and beyond to make it the best day!

It was far more exciting and fun than I had imagined. The guides were fantastic and very knowledgeable and had us perform raft maneuvers that I have never seen in other rafting trips I have taken. It wasn’t a”get in the raft, lean left, lean right, we’re done wasn’t that fun ?” type adventure. We were able to jump off a cliff, free swim and do various raft maneuvers as a team or ride the “bucking raft”

Cascade advertised a private one- on-one kayak lesson, though I don't think they do them often, let alone for single women. Was treated a little abrupt on the phone when I inquired about a half day session, then got an email message requesting to include a second person(?) when I registered. At the end when I returned my gear, one of the male guides I didn't know walked by snickering as I passed, no one else was around. Not sure why, but sort of was a strange vibe at the site.
My guide Logan was excellent, an experienced kayak. I had my roll down, could kayak class 2 rapids, but thought I would be bored with the lessons on balancing my kayak only. Logan was dialed in on technique and slowed down each step with direction and demo. His skill in teaching showed. He could pick up on subtle easy-to-learn changes to my paddling. Fortunately, with the helpful tips on proper bracing, ruddering, ferry angle practice, and finessing eddies made for a full learning session. I got a few rolls in and had time to re-enforce the skills I learned in the last few sections of rapids.
