“Nice State Park”

值得一去,和最大的游戏Musium狩猎公园里面的。不错的家庭野餐的地方,或露营。

我觉得很多人以为这就是公园的大门地狱峡谷和期待有某种令人眼花缭乱的大峡谷。如果这些佛寺他们会研究他们会看看这个公园。这是一个很棒的地方有很好的徒步旅行的一天,你可以选择快速和容易也有点挑战。风景非常好。酒店工作人员都非常友好。有一个射箭场也很好如果你感兴趣的话。徒步去查理高峰或魔鬼的滑梯和享受美丽的景色和蛇河阿索廷仍然能够买一杯冰咖啡的荷兰产后徒步10分钟。

Camping @Hells Gate

Aspen Loop and full hook up! We were next to the river and wildlife abounded. Beautiful path leading to downtown Lewiston. Thistle thorns flattened one of our bicycle tires. There are a lot of them. Dogs welcome. Washington state is literally just across the river. I did not visit the restrooms. There is a very nice Lewis and Clark Discovery Center in the park along wi the another historical museum.

Jet boat ride

Here for a spacing break. Great weather and sunny. Small store with expensive supplies, no hat pins. Tour guide is friendly and knowledgeable.

never to return - too noisy

I spent 2 evenings in a 16 ft trailer (with solar panels) in the basic camp site loop. The spots are okay, good shade and fairly well maintained. However, the park allows in that basic loop large RVs and trailers whose owners constantly run their very noisy generators. The generators that started up at 8:30 AM and run until 10 PM totally ruined the outdoor experience.
I will never return. I would advise anyone looking to tent or otherwise enjoy a peaceful outdoor experience to stay away.

Great but Concerns

Site 065
Cottonwood Loop

Thank you for you Hells Gate State Park, Beautiful Place & Staff.

We want to report a dangerous issue at our Site # 65 which we were at 2 days.
Site 65 driveway has many large broken up pieces of Asphalt at the entrance.
Twice I stumbled trying to cross over them, one time hurting my back.
It was the last and only site, no place to move to.
Someone is going to get seriously hurt there, it needs removed and graveled or new asphalt.

In Addition:
We went camping in the same Loop - Cottonwood last year, it was great.
We were really impressed by the clean bathrooms and the staff cleaning them often.
This year was different, maybe staff problems, maybe people not doing their job.
The men's bathroom was not cleaned from Friday Evening until we left Sunday noon.
How do I know ? The same dirty marks on the sinks and countertop remained and
the toilets, the same poop marks in and around, and never seeing anyone with the cart like last year coming around with cleaning supplies , the Restroom closed for cleaning, etc.
Yes, there was a cart of a Park Ranger going around to rake the camp sites but not the bathrooms. Never saw the Camp hosts, Dan, go over to clean.
My wife noticed similar uncleaned bathrooms in the women's and blood not cleaned up.

Completely overrun with spiders & stinkbugs!!!

We love this campground!!! Generous RV sites, beautiful & quiet. However the last time we camped there, there were soooooo many spiders that the trees were totally covered in webs. Also stink bugs! It was horrible. We realize this is a State park but come on! Nature doesn’t need that many spiders, spray & control them. We usually stay here twice a year, but we won’t be back until they have these creepy crawlers under control!

Nice campground

We stayed at the Hell’s Gate campground. It was really nice and there was lots of shade. There were flush toilets and a walking/biking path. We even noticed a swimming area in the snake river. When we arrived we checked in at the visitor’s center. We didn’t spend much time there, but it looked nice.

One of the nicest state parks ever

It's really lovely. Our only disappointment was that we had been told parking would be $5 but it was $14 for out of state visitors. The Lewis and Clark exhibit was nice for people who didn't know anything about the exhibit but we had read Stephen Ambrose's book and seen the PBS series so there wasn't much new.

Very nice campgrounds

We drove down to take a look at the campgrounds and the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. The Lewis and Clark center was not really a center, just a lobby with illustrations and a canoe to look at...not really a center dedicated to Lewis and Clark.
The campgrounds were extremely well tended...very manicured and clean. I would recommend the camp grounds without hesitation!
The day use area is just as nice...right on the river and very well shaded (it was hot when we went!)

Nice urban campground

We camp here every year and really like the bike trails and swimming area.

We did find this last time that the spaces closest to the trail were not watered (specifically space B-52), so you were basically dirt camping. Future bookings will be made for end of loop spots that have grass and not so much foot traffic.

Very Nice

We RV here multiple times each year.
Very clean and well managed.
What ever you need from tent to full hook ups can be provided here. This is a State Park and NOT a wilderness experience BUT there is a nice swimming beach, boat marina you name it.
