We had a fantastic week camping at the Travelers Rest with friends and family, the site is well kept and is child friendly with a play park , the landlord was very helpful and friendly, the pub food was delicious and we will definitely be back again soon.

The new landlady is lovely and welcoming. We’ve had a few meals here recently and it is consistently good. Charming place with a campsite behind. At last somewhere decent and local to go!

We stopped here for an overnight stay before getting a ferry early next morning. 20 mins from Portsmouth ferries. Site itself is well maintained and good facilities. Also having the pub close to hand for a bit of food was great. Food was home cooked and nice. Owners very friendly and welcoming.
However it might be useful for the owners to put some directions on their page - some of the roads are pretty narrow if you just follow sat nav. There could be a better way in. We will stop again but next time will look at a map first!

We stayed overnight in their campsite on the way to the ferry. Enjoyed late lunch- lasagne garlic bread and salad. All homemade. Others had homemade steak pie which they both enjoyed. Food very hot

Visited whilst on holiday in the area, as we had done several times in the past. We were delighted to see that not only is it still trading but has now opened a touring caravan site which should ensure it's survival.
We actually called in on a Wednesday which is curry night - £10 including a drink. Very good value and a nice tasty curry.

We were staying on a nearby Caravan & Motorhome Club site, went for an evening drive and took a left instead of a right turning and found this quaint pub. The staff were most friendly and said that they were still available to cook us some food. We both had the Lasagne & Chips and it was most satisfying meal we have enjoyed since leaving home a week ago. Lovely beer garden where we were able to sit with our three dogs.

Often cycle past this pub saw it was under new management so decided to pay a visit with wife and her sister. Nice welcome,good wine and beer. We decided to have a meal, good prices Great food. Will be returning

Very pleased initially, however, it appears some of the urk's previously excommunicated, are returning without the Landlords knowledge, as to who they are. The beers are good from the fridge.

Absolutely awesome to find that The Travellers is revived, it’s been a much loved venue of our four generations over 30 years with many occasions celebrated with family and friends. The new landlord and landlady are really friendly and welcoming, I can see lots of people returning.
My friends and I had dinner last night and were all very happy, missed the pie though so we’ll be returning soon.

Do they have a Christmas Menu? Haven' been there for some time, but getting lots of good vibes from friends.

Thanks hugely for your enquiry, indeed we do have a Christmas menu...please put in a search for the travellers rest Newtown Fareham and click on to our web site..The menu tab can be found on the top right hand side. Alternatively if you would like to email us I will email you a menu( this may go to your spam bin though). Unfortunately trip advisor won't allow us to type in our email address.
