Famous blues club, owned by the legend Buddy Guy, which, on the night we visited was pretty much full of tourists so although it might not be as atmospheric or 'authentic' as other more back-street blues joints, it was a great night. The band was really good and the evening got even better when Buddy himself got on stage to do a short set. Apparently, he's not always in the club and he rarely performs but, even at 88 years old, he's still got it. It's a very friendly place (even the bouncers are smiley) and the table service is excellent. Not that expensive either for beer or food. Highly recommended.

Tuvimos ocasión de pasar un gran rato, vimos al gran Dave Specter con Jimmy Burns, Gran blues y local. Hasta que el personal con sus malas formas hizo que muchos de los turistas no nos sintiéramos cómodos y nos fueramos tras el 1 er pase. Sólo se salvaba la camarera muy atenta y amable, el resto de personal... Mucho que desear con muy malas formas y nada amigables. La comida bastante mala también. Lo siento gran Buddy, no te mereces estar rodeado de semejantes personajes.

Reasonable experience. We are a 44 year old couple and speak fluent English.
Entrance $25 per person.
The manager q is at the reception is not a little nice at the reception and the exit, it is only nice qdo is on the stage holding a bucket after presentation to receive the slices.
The meals are reasonable fries in the $15 Banner.
The music is extremely loud and the air conditioning very cold.
The environment is clean and organized.

My friend and I met some lovely black women at Buddy Guy’s Legends last night. As the live music started playing, we started to dance and enjoy ourselves. Then suddenly a black man working there came over and started to tell the girls to calm down, and that they had come near the fabric barriers that kept us in our space. It all seemed very strange, as the dancing was very controlled and we all kept to out own space. They were of course frustrated by this, especially since there didn’t seem to be a good explanation for his behavior. Later the man came back and again started to pester the girls. This time I felt the need to stand up for them. This caused the man to be very upset, and a second man quickly came on the scene. This white man was angry from the outset, so I asked if I could talk to him somewhere quiet. I explained that we were just there to have fun, and that the girls had felt that the other man had been harassing them. Upon this he calmed down, and we shook hands. As we were about to go back, a third man came walking towards us looking like he was in a rage. I had never seen this man before, but he was in my face straight away, threatening to throw me out. But I did not take the bait, and stayed calm. Since we had already resolved the issue, he backed off. Upon reentering our area, all seemed to be ok for a second. My Polish friend who had not had any part in any of this thanked the white guy for resolving the issue in a good way, but when the third man saw this, he immediately jumped on my friend and insisted he had to be thrown out. And since my friend was being thrown out, I was to be thrown out too - by association. As we were standing by the entrance, a fourth man appeared. He had been on stage earlier, and was wearing a dotted shirt like Buddy himself often wears. This man insisted on us leaving, but admitted that there was little or no reason behind the decision. The white man gave us our money back, and we had a final talk with him. He agreed that my friend had done nothing wrong, and that neither had I. But that he was too far down on the hierarchy ladder to be able to do something about it. So it all seemed like it was totally pointless and meaningless. Except for one thing. I overheard the first guy talk with the man at the register. He said that we (my friend and I) thought we were going to have sex with the black women. Now I suddenly realized the reasoning behind it all. Me and my friend have just come up from Birmingham Alabama, where we did a Civil Rights Tour. They told us about how the white people used to cut the balls of black men for talking to white women. Well I guess the color was more than skin deep last night. They could not cut our balls off for talking and dancing with the black women, but they could throw us out for no reason. I am writing this, because I know that this is not in the spirit of Buddy Guy himself. This is so far from it, that I think he would be aghast if he knew what was going on at his own place. Buddy Guy’s Legends is a fantastic venue, I just hope the employees don’t tarnish his legacy by having their own agendas and acting racist. Hopefully this ugliness will be sorted out, and this kind of behavior eliminated before it becomes part of the interior.

Caught Eliza Neals in town on tour after hearing her on SiriusXM. DAMN did they tear the roof off the club as the Rolling Stones were in town. Even more crazy was Buddy Guy was there and went on stage with her. My face hit the floor when he did that wow what a surprise to hear him up there with such a hot singer like Eliza Neals.
I'm so happy I went with my friends at a bachelor party to see her absolutely kill it then the amazing happened with Buddy. Best Blues club in Chicago hands down made our night even if it was sold out. We were standing half the night then got seats after a while the drinks were good food was great! I would go back tomorrow if I could. Don't miss this club if you come to Chicago!

We arrived early so as to get a good seat, and enjoyed an entire evening of southern food, drinks, and three different bands giving us their all. Jambalaya was a bit disappointing, but a good value for the price. Larger than some of the other clubs, but had a good chance to talk to fellow blues lovers, do some dancing, and see some real talent. Not too far from our hotel in the loop, so easy to get to.

true temple of good old Blues - a must-see for anyone who appreciates good music with local artists with a lot of talent. It's worth going 1 2 3 4....times.

Amazing experience with the most genuine blues you could think of. We went on a slow Sunday but once we entered we knew we’ve come to the right place.

Went before showtime but were treated to a jazz combo performance at no extra cost. Was frisked upon entry. A decent sized place and the dinner was fairly good and none too expensive. Tickets that night were only $15 but left before showtime even though was told that Buddy might make an appearance. But he is on tour! Was well worth the effort to go and 5 stars just because it is Buddy.

Not sure, but if i’ll be you I would expect not to pay the extra $10. Ask them to clarify when get there. The truth is, if you’re a fan the extra $10 won’t make a difference :)
