My son went under water and my son put sand on his shirt and swim suit and the toilet were nice in the man restroom 🚺 and it was a nice Beach ⛱️

We walked by on a Saturday morning and enjoyed watching the volley ball games. The beach was very clean and relaxing.

Very cool spot with free parking!!! Connected with other beeches along Lake Michigan with great views. Parking could be hard to find on weekends.

...the bathrooms are atrocious! Guess that's a good thing though as opposed to folks using the lake as a bathroom right? The lake water is clean. Beach was somewhat clean until people started leaving and not picking up their trash.
Parking in the lot right in front of the beach is not free. It's $2 per hour. I thought parking was free adjacent the lot but as I was going to put more money on my sticker I saw at least 15 cars with tickets. So if you are paying to park I suggest you keep up with the time or pay for all day which is just as much as if you paid to park at North Ave. Beach in a lot.
Plenty of shade and picnic areas. You can grill. There are also vendors selling tacos, corn (elotes), cotton candy, etc. Lifeguards on duty until about 7pm. Swim at your own risk after that.

If you make a right turn at the Foster exit, on Lake Shore Drive, you will find yourself in the middle of a full blown Beach! There's also lanes for running and for bicyclists.
Of course there's sand, showers, a beach house and food to eat along with seagulls that may knock the food out of your hand.
If you're inclined you can play volleyball or go in the water( usually warmest by the end of August) or even fly a kite! There are additional vendors selling ice cream and cotton candy. Feel like a BBQ, bring your grill and set up on the tree shaded grassy areas just yards from the sand.
Of course there's always the option of doing nothing at all, take in sights, bask in the Sun, enjoy this Summer Oasis in the city. Don't forget your Suntan lotion.

This beach is clean and dog free. Here you will find soft sand, volleyball nets,lounge chairs and beach umbrellas available for a rental fee, a bathroom(kind of gross) a ramp from the shower heads to the beach, a concession stand, surrey bikes for rent, a trail that cyclists, walkers, and joggers use, and you can grill on the park side of the beach. You do have to pay by the hour for parking(NOT CHEAP). If you want free parking you can go to Montrose Beach which is dog friendly.

I love this beach. It is connected with Montrose beach and harbor filled with sailboats.
But be warned: on weekends after 10am it is hard to find parking or even get inside the park (since the police due to huge crowdes redirect people away)....

My husband grew up going to the Foster Beach and took my kids and me for our first Lake Michigan beach experience. We had a lot of fun. My kids played and played. The beach was nice and clean of trash. The water was chilly but clear. It wasn't crowded when we were there (11 until about 1:30), but it was starting to fill up as we were leaving.
My only downside was the bathroom was filthy. I had to change balanced on my flip flops. I changed my kids in the car and was thankful they waited until we were at the grocery store to use the bathroom!

I visit foster beach with my kids. It has easy parking, not too crowded. There is ample space to BBQ, play some tag and throw ball around with kids and friends. They have showers and clean bathroom near by.
